You're right... rider's heads with an arm or another head won't be looked at anyway. But you're wrong with the "minor cloning". Imagine this... You send your sick ass shot into Mag 'A' and have it totally schmick with no imperfections whatsoever. You'd done a little bit of cloning here...

Cloning stuff in MTB photos will get you nothing more than a smacked bum. If it can be moved, push or kick it. If it can't be moved, move your own ass.

To get that ambient though mate, you'd be shooting with iso up around the 1000's I'd think... hence the 1/32. Good flash duration at that pace!
