What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Not having much luck lately
Perceived ability seems to be exceeding my actual ability by a fair margin at the moment. Just woken up as I can't sleep, shoulder is FKKKING sore. I can't feel anything out of place but very limited range of motion and arm up against my chest is least painful, something is tweaked.

I had 3 in succession over 5 weeks at Xmas 2019. Knocks the confidence a fair bit, still wouldn't say I was back to that level even now but in a happy place... I drew a new line a little bit closer and have crossed it several times which makes for a great feeling.
Injured and broken then losing the ability to even ride at all is a shit feeling.

Hope all is well with the shoulder as the muscle trauma can last for a long time even without a break.

TLDR rode it, caught a tree and crashed it

Longer version, my son is doing the kids lessons organised by KMBC at the camel farm. You're supposed to stay around the area for the duration so went for a little ride myself.
Thought I would give @Rorschach loop a try as I've never ridden Camakaze before and had about 2 hours to kill. I took it easy and b-lined some of the features at the beginning but started to get the hang of it about halfway through. Whilst focussing on a small ramp ahead I forgot about the little tree on my left and tackled the dirt pretty hard on my right side. I got up and straightened out my front brake and shifter but my mojo remained in the dirt and didn't return, arm and shoulder were pretty sore so gave up on the idea of heading up Gunjin and cruised back to the camel farm via the munda biddi.
Collected my son from his ride then picked up some first aid from the Mundaring shops and went and looked at a bike with friend for her son.
Came home and got a bollocking from my wife for riding by myself.
Learning outcomes of the experience. The ground seems a lot harder now. than when I used to mtb in the 90s. I now need to get some elbow pads to go with my kneepads. I think I need some lessons as much as my son does. I'm getting quite good at not scratching my new helmet when I crash

Bugger, thats the pea gravel for you! I've got some sympathy for you, I've clipped a tree on Camikazi too, but luckily nice and slowly so just gelded myself on the stem. Have sacrificed some skin to the trail gods though on Flaccid Ashback and done something similar. Bought elbow pads shortly after...
My bars are also at 770mm now, they started at 800mm but it can get pretty narrow down there

FYI, there's a bit of a shortcut across the valley at the end if you turn right instead of left that cuts that dog leg out and brings you onto the Munda Biddi on the other side

Check that shoulder, they're notoriously susceptible to damage and can take ages to heal up.

And if one has loss of function or range of motion, definitely take the time to see a specialist.
Doctors and nurses all told me mine would heal up after a stack.

Only after getting an MRI and seeing an orthopaedic surgeon did it become clear it needed surgery.
MRIs are both enlightening and scary for shoulder injuries.

Stop scaring me  waiting to see the doc now.

Edit
My debriding skills are good, upgraded tetanus to boost. Need an X-ray and ultrasound, referral says
? Rotator cuff

Well, if it helps, mine was after at least two dislocations with nowhere near adequate rehabilitation. Chances are you're not in the same situation.

I'm sure your physio has a good knowledge of climbing injuries. It is quite incredible how many pretty major rotator cuff injuries can be fixed with physio alone. But only if you have a physio with an inate knowledge of rotator cuffs.

Ya, get the scans. Thankfully mine was only a bit of bursitis and some accompanying inflammation. But after crashing in January it still has it's bad days now so you don't want to be messing with more damage than that for too long.
