Don't bother with the trail blazer. It's a glorified 2.4"... At least the 27.5x2.8 is.

I need some help... I'm currently tossing up between a Kona Honzo, and a Ragley Big Wig.

Kona has a slightly higher BB which I think is better, but has questionable plus tyre clearance.
Big wig is longer, lower, slacker... And has clearance for 3" tyres... By I'm concerned it might be too low and slack.

I'm basically after a 120mm hardtail for longer rides where the Endurbro feels over-biked, especially for more climbing. I had a 100mm hardtail before that felt under-biked, but obviously climbed well.
Stanton Sherpa?

Only has clearance for 2.8 (assuming you're after 27.5+ and not 29+?) but otherwise fits the bill. Geo numbers look ideal for all day epics while not feeling outgunned when things get rowdy.

2.8 is fine. Would either have 29x2.3 or 27.5x2.8 depending on which wheels I use.

Everything else on the Sherpa is perfect (even the price is great!) except it's 135 rear end. :(
2 of my wheel sets are adaptable, but the third isn't... and I'd prefer 142x12. Damnit.

Honzo is looking like the winner...

Edit: just saw Sherpa next gen with 142x12... Pricing isn't as good though. Still very tempting.

Its really only the shipping that kills stanton.

At 500 pounds its under a k but the $250 shipping just hurts!

Cotic on the other hand are only $150 shipping (400 pounds for the frame) but again I think the Solaris is QR rear....

Actually considering buying anything but a Kona Honzo!!!!

lol... Not like you have a vested interest in my decision. ;)

Yep... Although the end price isn't so bad, I can't bring myself to stump up 250+ for freight. Canfield nimble 9 is on run out for 499usd... Then 250usd freight. Ouch.

mmmmm Canfield. What I would do for an EPO...

Back to reality. Sherpa is at the top of my list (slightly biased as I have a whole bunch of parts that could be hoovered up by one) but reviews on the Internets are pretty limited. The titanium versions are just pornography.

The Sherpa is a great bike. I'm totally happy with mine and I got the MKi with qr rear. The geo and fit is spot on for me running a 120 mm fork.

And you can always organise your own freight.

I don't think QR rear is a big deal unless the intention is swapping a common wheelset between bikes.

My Soul doesn't want for lateral control.

very much the intention, i want to be able to switch my 29" and 27.5" wheels between hardtail and endurbro. so much so, they both run the exact same hubs, rotors and cassettes so there is no tweaking required.

looks like i've got my greasy mitts on a Honzo, though...

New Canfield Nimble 9 boost is looking pretty darn good geo wise

They also mentioned that 12x142 dropouts are available!

And so as to follow the rules, a recent pic of my Soul.

prices for the Nimble 9 scared me... was very keen on one though.

the new Surly Karate Monkey has 145mm dropouts, can be spread to 142 or 148.. pretty nifty!

Yeah I'm hearing ya. Still, high on my lust list. Nearly pulled the trigger on a runout Sherpa frame until I saw the freight cost. Ah well, joy's of living at the bottom of the world.

NS Eccentric

Just finished putting this together and took it out for its first outing. 2016 NS eccentric.

Pretty damn happy with how it rides.

Will take some better photos when the opportunity arises.

I can contribute properly now...

Now onto its third set of wheels too  trying out the much lighter specialized butcher/purgatory I have mounted on my roval wheels, will see how they compare to the 2.5 and 2.8 minions on my other sets.

27.5 plus
