Part of me wants to try it, part of me thinks it's a good way to waste $1500.
Definitely a roll of the dice. I sure find it interesting but thankfully too much bike for what I need.
If it is strong enough then it could be the king of Ali bargains.

Hurts. Requires Money. And is nerdy.
I really really like the new pivots.
Like REALLY like them.
But fuck me dead that pricing is nuts.

Passed a new pivot switchblade up a pretty steep, blown out fire road climb the other day, a fancy XTR spec one so it cost an absolute fortune.
Turns out an $11k mtb is not as fast as my $8k e-bike! Wasn’t even pushing it, just a recovery liason stage before I dropped into a single track loop.
Yes I’m allowed to ride my registered bike there, I don’t know why a guy was mtb’ing in a well known moto spot. He wasn’t pissy and I didn’t roost him or fly past at mach chicken, calm down haakers.

MTB cost too much nowadays. It’s very, very dumb. Won’t be upgrading my spitty till I do a moorey and break it, and even then I might spit the dummy and go back to SS hardtails.

2022 Pivot Firebird. All the usual jazz - longer, slacker, size-specific stays...

...or if you prefer, there's a LiveValve version for a mere $17848.70 AUD (At current exchange rates, subject to local price-gouging...:eek::eek:):

Seriously WTF. That's probably going to be $18K here. F-off.
The only Pivot I'd be interested in riding. Seems like finally they've made the bike work for more than one size.

But damn, and I like a bike but that price is hitman / drug money.

Sorry doesn't surprise me anymore. Pivot has always been one of the most expensive brands here.
Waiting to see who is going to be the first brand to crack $25K

Well this has melted my brain.

Would be cheaper to fly over to the US, buy an Intense, have a holiday than walking into a local Pivot dealer an asking for a Firebird.
I guess if Specialised can do a big $$$ halo model it then the others want a slice of the same pie.

It is pity that MTB'ing is heading that way.
