avocados. couldnt find any ready to eat on the weekend so got some to ripen and cook the kids favourite burritos during the week. now wednesday and we could still play softball with the things. they're either mush or rocks. i just want predictable fruit.

They ripen faster if you leave them next to some types of fruit, I think like oranges and bananas. There is some gas certain fruit emit that also helps the avocado to ripen. If you have half of an avocado left then lay it in a bit of water and it won't go bad for a day or so but the avocado meat will get too soft if you leave it too long.
