First time in Shiga Kogen. It looks beautiful here! It's a bit of a complicated place to work out - it's a bunch of small ski fields jumbled together on a shared pass winding through the mountains. There is no town as such, just small clusters of hotels. It is not very crowded. All my client except 1 left over the last few days, so it s a welcome change of pace after the last 2 weeks in Hakuba. Batteries will be reloaded for the final week of winter.
I have already come across a family of snow monkeys on the piste.
Unfortunately the weather yesterday was shit. It rained pretty much all day and the snow now needs about 30-40cm of fresh snow to repair. It is trying hard to snow but I am seeing more like 10-15cm in it. I don't think the refresh will come before I leave so I'll have to come back next season and hope for better conditions.
