Ha. I was looking out for them, and then when I was helping them, didn't even recognise them. I was a bit fuzzy eyed and fuzzy headed by that stage.

That lad in their group that won is the problem. He is a selfish, lazy, obnoxious brat. All the other crew in their group were cool.

There's a few of them I refer to as the dickheads, they are the ones that get the train from Blackwood or Glenunga to Belair, 1 km with 25m of elevation and need to catch the train

Got the stringers onsite & loosely installed:

Landing footings & bottom concrete pour next.

Max 17 tread regs means extra landings but that's ok. Neighbour floating past in the background.

Was nearly going to do my first post in the beer thread but I'm just a regular alco rather than a beer connoisseur.

I dont mind a good crafty.

Final 6 trail tool heads completed, just 1 more coat of red then fit the handles.

They didn't need the little strengthening supports but it was part of the original design so I welded them in. The original handle support was 2.2mm and split, the new revised design is 3.3mm and solid.

had to re-terminate a 7 core 2.5mm Pyro cable that had broken...it has been a while between drinks, still got it baby, Yeah!
nailed it first go, no cable faults... the other younger electricians had never seen it done in the real world, wouldn't have a clue where to start, they had only seen it in videos at tafe...fcuk I feel old now, I have been doing this shit for too long.

I am a Power Station sparky for over 30yrs, now in Ops but Pyro was the big test, beautifully laid 60 runs on top of each other, then 1 goes to ground.

Pyro below the HP turbine, even on outage, there are machines running either side, it a pornographic splendour when you bend 50-70 copper Pyro thermocouples around a cable tray in perfect sync... knowing that the end goal is none to earth.

Pyro to 240V domestic cable is like a Ferrari to a Trabant. Built magnificently for a purpose but oh what a pain in the arse if you have to do any maintenance.

The porno for pyros set in Sydney that year was rad. It was a good year. I saw a naked woman, discovered Alchemist (though their light show wasn't awesome in the mid afternoon!), climbed a flag pole and finished the night off watching the prodigy in the boiler room while one of my crew was panicking about getting the bus back to the train station etc etc.
