What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Heh, so I'd given the bike a clean prior to suspension servicing and that photo was taken halfway up the first climb. Don't worry it looks trashed now.
I actually meant pristine looking instead of clean.
my fork lowers are scratched, cranks banged up, rims scratched etc etc. I bought a carbon rim off Beeb a while back. Looked brand new. Three rides in and there were marks all over it.

Ah right. Well taking photos with a potato phone helps, lack of detail hides all sorts of blemishes. I've found frameskin helps with handling errors and weirdly I haven't had any big offs on this bike. It's so stable I've usually had time to point it at some comfy vegetation if it all goes to shit.

Also some stuff just seems to wear better than others, I have a set of ARC30 rims that look like they've been attacked with a cheese grater, and a set of Zelvys that are barely any better.

Spent the long weekend at a Ski lodge at Mt Buller, excepting a bit of a brain fade (see CotFW thread) it was a good weekend for it, 37 at home and a nice daily max of 22 on the mountain. Didn't do all the trails as it was a bit of a friends / family catchup and was often riding with novices, but great fun. One organised ride was the Delatite trail from the top to the bottom. Several questionable bike turned up - kids bikes with rusted drive trains, one very novice rider on a hybrid with 35mm tyres, people with basically no experiance riding MTB's (I was not aware all these people were going to ride until we got started as they were already at the start point. No spares except for what I had, several bikes had old / bad tyres very poorly maintained bikes etc. Managed to get everyone down the mountain but did A LOT of trail side repairs. Did the ride again on the way out with my boys. Took us well over 2 hours with the group and 30 mins with the boys :D Still great fun Did manage 1 day of shuttles, but still spent a bit of time showing some guys the ropes, but they were better prepared than the guys we took down the Delatite trail :)

Bloody spoils the vibe, gives me the shits as it's my way to decompress
Im going to have to start taking the same way in as I come home along. Its longer, but its mostly on a bike path...

The way I go in is direct and pretty quick as its mostly downhill, but there is a 500m section where I have to take the lane as its narrow between parked cars and traffic islands - and cars get dangerous monstering me and trying to squeeze past. It's a 50 zone and Im doing 30ish so not exactly taking a lot of time out of their lives, and I invariably pass them again another km down the street at the next lights, but its just too much stress and a shit start to the day.

I've driven through school zones with people tailgating the shit out of me and even pass me in the zone, only for them to pull into the school to drop their kids off.

This is the kind of mentally you/we unfortunately are dealing with with it comes to fuckwits on the road.

Yeah... I feel the redneck factor is a smidge higher here as its such a car centric town, but its an Australia wide cultural problem. It's exhausting.

Post dogs we are serious about moving to europe for a bit. Go live in a city thats not full of bogans and live totally car free for a while!

Only 3?

Edit: i can get at least that before leaving my street, and sometimes even before leaving my driveway :p
Does your partner follow you out and give you some 'motivational' aggression before you leave for work? A few beeps of the horn and a rev of the car. Like Rockys training?
