I hope we fuck off this blue lighting on our landmarks shit and say that while we wholeheartedly condemn Hamas' actions, we will also condemn Israel if they act like cunts and start bombing Palestinian citizens into dust.
....which they have an established track record of doing. Also, The Gaza strip has essentially been a prison camp for Palestinians for a very long time, and the Israelis block humanitarian aid from reaching Palestinians, as well as severely restrict their movement and indeed pretty much every aspect of their lives, while the UN just seems to ignore the whole situation. Also, Israelis have been annexing Palestinian land for Israeli 'settlements', to the point that there is hardly any Palestinian land left.

let you google that for me

Yeah it's a tragic situation.

Nah, according to our Minister of Foreign Affairs it is "difficult from over here to make judgements about what security approach other countries take", so go nuts Israel, Australia has your back...

And that's because ANY time a foreign country DARES to criticize the Israeli actions of ERASING Palestine, they are labeled anti-semitic, the holocaust is thrown in their face or both. so everyone sits on their hands and mumbles about how terrible and tragic it all is. I do have to wonder what sort of hold the Israelis have over the yanks and everyone else.
the Israelis have been wiping out palestine and palestinians since the 40s. what the fuck did they think was going to happen? Why is everyone shocked about the recent Hamas atrocities? They are atrocities, for sure, And look at the history of this part of the world, It's fucking grim.
Every time the palestinians chuck a few rocks, or a few shitty rockets, look what the Israelis have done to them in return. Massive Retaliation Airstrikes, usually on Civilians.

I hope either side don't resort to using the White Phosphorus munitions for this battle.

Bellingcat are usually pretty accurate when keeping up with whats being used in what conflict but with anything its a grain of salt approach as its based on OSINT.

Maybe war but this was not war it was next level evil.
Was what the Hamas/Palestinian fighters did terrible, even evil? sure.
And look at what the Israeli forces have done to them for the past 75 years of armed oppression.

The Palestinian 'forces' are a militia, at best. They have no airforce, no heavy artillery apart from some surface to surface short range rockets, no armoured mechanised divisions. The Israelis are going to slaughter what's left of the Palestinian people.

How exactly would the Palestinians declare war on the Israelis? With what army?
I have a pretty good idea about how that would go. Scorched Earth. no survivors.

And annexation of palestinian land has been going on for way longer than that, with the blessing of the British, who thought it was a neat idea to have a buffer state in the region.

Who knew that a hard right strongman like Netahanu was bad for national security  But I assume this was largely the excuse he was looking for (and has probably been encouraging with some pretty egregious provocation of late...) to wipe out the last bits of Palestine.

Another fine example of how the species continues to fuck itself by letting aggressive arsehats use religion as an excuse to be arsehats.

I don’t have the Answer just condemning the evil behavior that I don’t see it as a justified means to get the outcome they want or fight back. They obviously don’t make their own rockets they fire in the 1000s.

It is good timing as Australia was felling all the guilt over being racist for an opinion on the voice model and now we get to see real racism in action. Kind of puts stuff in perspective.

Don't bring the voice to parliament into this, but if you are keen to compare, let's look at the Brits arriving in 1770, then again in 1788 to establish a colony... now in 2023, most of the original population have been slaughtered or died from diseases the Brits bought with them, their land is virtually all owned by 'Australia' or corporate interests, usually foreign, and the Australian people have been in part convinced by pretty dodgy fuckers, IMO, to not even give them an advisory body like ATSIC. don't know what ATSIC was?

Read the history mate. A lot of regional states are pretty fucked off with Israel, which also has nuclear weapons.

That was my initial thought too but the unprecedented uselessness of Israeli intelligence in the lead up to the attacks on Saturday is possibly the biggest failure in the country's history. While Netanyahu can (and is) using this to prop himself up in the short term, internally many Israelis are going to be asking many uncomfortable questions about how such a catastrophic and humiliating invasion was ever, ever allowed to happen. And when Netanyahu's putsch against the courts has created so much internal division and left Israel's security forces in the worst state they've ever been in, it's not going to be hard to start apportioning blame.

Only positive that might come out of this is it might terminally wound his leadership and open the door for someone who's slightly less of a Trumpy nutcase.
