Nice to meet you Nole. My husband and I were in Whistler in June when they were getting the track ready for the comps a few weeks later. We were only there overnight or my hubby would definitely have gone riding there. But we did get some pics of people trying out the DH track there near the resort.

Yeah Whistler is pretty sweet. There's so much to ride and having it at your doorstep is kinda spoilt. Did you get to see any of Crankworks? Such a fun festival... guys doing crazy stuff!

i just got back from the US/Canada with my boyfriend. we spent a week in Whistler, mainly doing the Mtn Bike Park but did spend a day over near the Lost Lake doing the cross country trails. the trails over there are so smooth and maintained, its a big difference to say riding at Appin or Menai. i splurged on a new bike, i now have a Santa Cruz Blur LT carbon bike and now need to make sure i am am doing the bike justice, so if anyone is up for a ride in the Sydney, greater Sydney area let me know (i live in the eastern suburbs) i'll update the 'girls rides in sydney' posting with any rides as well

Bike: Specialised Enduro trail, Giant Alias hard tail for XC, and about to get an STP to learn to jump
Riding: prefer more technical stuff, wanna get more into DH and street, but love technical XC as well. Basically, have bikes, will ride any track!

If people are in the Sydney area, would be great to meet up for rides, I have no idea where things are and keen to make the most of summer once I'm over there.

Style - XC (I know i ride a jump bike but with the seat up its an ok set up for me at the moment) but im pretty keen for anything.
Day Job - just completed a degree in industrial design...so currently doing a bit of casual work at my uncles moto shop and looking for a REAl Job haha.

My boyfriend used to ride for cannondale maxxis when he rode under 19s...and then decided to have a few years time out...but since he got back into it...hes been keen for me to have a go. and to be honest im loving it!! its just hard to ride as a total beginner with an elite rider!!

Riding: xc with some experience at technical stuff. I'm not a beginner I have been riding for about 10 years on and off but if you don't use it you lose it as they say....need to keep up my skills. I haven't been riding regularly enough to get any better.
Trails I have ridden: Loftus, Manly Dam, Lucus Heights mainly Sydney rides but I have been to Canberra.

Keen to find other girls to ride with hopefully of a similar ability. I try to keep my fitness up by road riding occasionally.
I usually ride trails with my fiance but he has stepped up his riding and I just can't keep up anymore which isn't really fun.

I'm in Nowra if you're ever keen to travel down here, however Wingello, Welby, Appin and Lucas Heights aren't too far away for me to meet up there for a ride sometime.

Cool thanks Fi I have actually realised that mtb-oz chix is now on facebook so I have joined up to that as well as the actually website you gave me. I haven't been to Appin yet but would like to get down there for a ride. My fiance has said it is quite technical and would be a challenge. I will try to organise a ride at Loftus on the 17th of Jan I will post on the main part of the girls only .
