Just got a call from Stinky to say that Mick Hannah didn't race, he was still pretty swollen from the crash in practice and the ice, pills and TLC from Mrs Stinky wasnt enough to get him fighting fit for todays race.

Think Peat has gone first in the semi final but they were out of sight of the results board so cant be sure. Qualifying runs are into the lower numbers now so unlikely that anyone will knock him off. Shaping up to be a belter this afternoon in the final!

Hill qualifies 3rd behind Pascal and Peat in first for this afternoons finals.

Rachel Atherton (younger sister of Gee and Dan) has taken 3rd in the womens semi at the ripe age of 16 :shock:

sounds like we've got a real downhill race on our hands judging by the qualifiers. After some pedaller norba rounds and sea otter its a nice change.

Thanks to jon_e at Descent-World for the scoreboard snaps! Currently raining so things are likely to change a bit before this afternoon, I would imagine some snaps will appear online between now and finals time. Gracia was doing his best to make "Hills kicker" his own with some mad whips and one handers. Anne Caro possibly finally getting her head round a course she admits to not liking, she missed last year but in 2002 was awful, came well down the field.

I'm throwing my money down on Sam, he's made a habit of qualifying slowish then tearing the arse right out of things in his race run this Summer.

Hill by 5 seconds in the final. You heard it here first ;)

good to see Jonnier within 2 sec's of Ann-Caro ... I wouldnt say she "owned" the race..

2 sec's on a track that long is pretty good.
