Louie, this is quite literally the perfect course for a beginner rider. It absolutely follows the principle of "easy to ride, hard to ride fast" - maybe not even that.
I highly recommend this event if you're looking for one to try out some night racing as a first-time thing.

results up and thanks for turning up

Last night we had the first twilight Gazebo 3 hour and it was a great success. Thanks to all the racers who came along. Over 150 for a club level 3 hour. Speeds were high, racing was close and much fun was had. Go to the Results page for your placings and lap times.

Congrats to all riders for a fun and open vibe

GMBC rider Tim Corbett just pipped Mt Buller Poster boy Will Geor for the A grade win with Brendan Adair and Alex Randall finishing very strongly in 3rd and 4th
It was a very happy household full of wine and chocolate at the Corbett /Dyers as Kirra Dyer finished on top of the Women's Podium followed by Julia Clarke and Aleisha Bald
In B grade Garth Norman took home the chocolate and wine followed by Shaun Grogan and Steve Barker
Austen Hawkins , Craig Sinclair and Chris Bertam filled the C grade Podium
In Jun. events Jack Booth, Sam Wilson and Simon Harrington filled the 13 -17 years
Liam Jeffries again took home the chocolate in the 12-14 boys followed but Adam Blazevic and Ben Scarlett

Of Note was the huge improvement in riders who have only started racing in the "GMBC NO FRILLS Friday" series this summer. Many of them have increased their speed and endurance
since round one.
Thanks heaps for turning up. The GMBC Race Crew

See you on March 3rd for the Stockyards Gazebo round!

#103 is Anthony Ivelja.

I hate him. He always beats me. Worse, he's a thoroughly nice chap. Bastard.

Thanks for that - amended my master files and will update the web site when I get the next two.

Did he finish? (Riders are usually only missing when they fail to complete the first lap and, as the last one was taken at 8:46 pm I gather he was still running towards the end).

turn up . email info before event if possible

thinking of doing this - how does one enter? Just rock up on the day?

You just turn up on the day and pay the entry fee; only $25 for non GMBC members with a mtba membership.

Entries on the day only:
$20 GMBC members, $25 other MTBA-members, $10 MTBA-juniors, $50/$65/$25 series entry.
Non-MTBA members $40 adults, $15 juniors (includes Day Licence/Permit)

However to save time, we will put up an entry form on our events page in the next few days, if you are able to fill it out and email it to the club we will put all your info into the computer before the day of the race.
Or fill it out and bring it with you on race day.

here is the link to events page . the entry form is still from round two. I will post a notice here when the new entry form goes up.

http://www.gmbc.com.au/events/events.html

This is a No Frills Club level event, which has a very cheap entry price. (we are trying to keep costs down). All riders are welcome. 157 turned up tot he last event.
