ABC just had the top ten albums of all time, as voted for by Australians. They are:

1. Pink Floyd — Dark Side of the Moon
2. Jeff Buckley — Grace
3. Radiohead — OK Computer
4. The Beatles — Abbey Road
5. The Beatles — Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
6. Nirvana — Nevermind
7. Led Zeppelin — Four
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers — Blood Sugar Sex Majik
9. Meat Loaf — Bat Out of Hell
10. U2 — Joshua Tree

I'm still thinking about mine (over some Sunday night booze). The top ten is good, but I think of the above, only 'Dark Side of the Moon' will make it. Maybe 'OK Computer' as well.

What's yours? Full studio albums only!!

A little off-topic but did anyone else think that the format of show ruined the show itself. That judith woman did not contribute one usefull thing.

She (and and Chas of Chaser) was just trying to be a comedian, which was a little unfortunate. All the others, particularly Kram, were good.

Meat Loaf WTF ??

Saw most of my top ten in the credits (the full top 100)...

Geez, Renae Geyer looks more and more like a bad transvestite.

Don't forget, it's "Top 10 favourite albums", which means personal preference is priority... a small detail but what my favourite album is differs to what I think the "best" album is.

Can't really argue with the results, Meatloaf is an interesting inclusion but I'll refer to above as justification for its position.

OK, I've decided:

1. Bob Marley: Exodus
2. David Bowie: The Man Who Sold the World
3. The Doors: LA Women
4. Tom Waits: Closing Time
5. DJ Shadow: Endtroducing
6. Bob Dylan: Nashville Skyline
7. Ministry: The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste
8. FSOL: Dead Cities
9. White Stripes: Elephant
10. Rodriguez: Cold Fact

Special mentions: Led Zeppelin II and Guns n Roses: Appetite for Destruction

Floyd and Radiohead miss out. Lots of others bands/artists I like that didn't make a whole album that was legendary.

EDIT: Mine are not as good as Johnny's unfortunately.

Alright, does dicko really piss anybody else off? For me he was just annoying...anyways...what would have everyone one else had as their top album? (Sorry for hijack) Mine would have to be... Neil Young Decade, or Harvest...tough one though!

Agreed that Judith Lucy and Dicko added nothing of value to the show. Judith in particular is a waste of space on just about anything she goes on. I would liked to have seen more artists have a say, than those two windbags.

If its got nothing to do with her vagina, Judith Lucy doesnt want to talk about it.

My number one.... Rage Against The Machine - Self Titled.

I'd rather Judith Lucy didn't talk about her vagina.....

My favourite album is easily either Ten Thousand Fists or The Sickness from Disturbed.

ps: please dont ever speak ill of the 'Final Countdown' :p

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown
Ooh oh

We're heading for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us
And welcome us all (yeah)
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
Ooh ooh oh

(interlude)

The final countdown
Ooh oh
I'ts the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
Ooh
It's the final countdown
We are leaving together

Pink Floyd..Nirvana...RHCP.....Meatloaf....hmmmm how did they figure that? On units moved (quantitative) or general bad taste (qualitative).
Well, it filled a timeslot.

BTW, get ready for the merciless onslaugh of christmas carol covers. I want Satan's Ashtray to cover
Jingle Bell Rock

How could anyone forget WaWaNee's 'to shy'

Is the 'final countdown' an ode to the bands mass suicide attempt?

Umm, People voted. That was the whole premise of the show.

I'd have to say I was pleasently surprised by the quality of the albums.

I've never got into Jeff Buckley but I was dreading a cheesaphon lead by Whispering Jack....

I was a little disappoint no Aussy acts made the top ten, so many great and influencial acts come out of Aus surely one of them deserve to be there.

Aussie acts...yes...ACDC
I agree with what was said before, the show did sort of ruin itself with some of the guys on the panel...it was trying to recreate Spicks and Specks I believe. Did anyone catch the closing credits by any chance? It had the list of the top 100. Anthony Callea (32) features above The Eagles-Hotel California, Sex Pistols-Never Mind the Bollocks, Red Hot Chili Peppers- Californication and Cold Chisel-East.
How can the short man be prefered over Hotel California!??? Outrage!

Well I have seven of the ten albums, but won't ever get the other ones. Albums I would add to that list would be:
James — Laid
NIN — The Downward Spiral
The Cure — Head On The Door

For an Australian flavour:
Powderfinger — Internationalist
Gotye — Like Drawing Blood
Eskimo Joe — Black Fingernails, Red Wine

Obviously I could make a full Australian top 10:

Powderfinger — Internationalist
Gotye — Like Drawing Blood
Eskimo Joe — Black Fingernails, Red Wine
The Clouds — Penny Century
Halogen — Save The Ones You Love
Xavier Rudd — Solace
Carus — Acoustic At The Norfolk
Spiderbait — ShaShaVaGlava
Scarlet — Siren (EP)
Grinspoon — Guide To Better Living

I just had a look at the top 100 and I have 31 of the Albums, nearly a third.

Not a custom title.
Having had GC limit us to full studio albums makes things tricky

I seriously can't rank these in order:

Metallica: Master of Puppets
Oscar Petersen Trio: Night Train
Dire Straits:
Dire Straits: Love over Gold
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
Def FX: Lightspeed Collision
Paul Simon: Graceland
Ministry: Psalm 69
Queen: A Night at the Opera
Def Leppard: Hysteria

Honorable mentions to ACDC: Back in Black, Queen: Jazz, Joe Satriani: Surfing With the Alien, Queen: Sheer Heart Attack, Dave Brubeck: Time Out, Sinatra: Songs for Swingin Lovers, Eagles: Hotel California, INXS: Kick
