I don't pretend to be a compassionate or understanding person, but why would you want to advertise that you had depression?
I only know a couple of people that have beat depression and the last thing either wants to do is talk about it.

I know another person that currently has it and uses it as a tool to get what they want and the shit human in me would assume that would be the sort of person that would get a visible tatt like the semi colon.

Nothing wrong with being proud of coming out the other side of something awful? Also awareness for helping eliminate the stigma too I suppose. The Black Dog thread here shows just how common these kind of issues can be, even here.
