This blows me away. Someone has just too much money and questionable intentions.

"Carl Zeiss has posted a web page (http://www.zeiss.com/c12567a8003b58b9/Contents-Frame/8baac109cb80bddfc12571e100393a1b) with a description and pictures of a one-off STL Sonnar T* 1700mm f/4 supertelephoto lens that it made-to-order for a customer to use with his Hasselblad 203 FE medium format SLR. (This would be roughly equivalent to a 920mm f/4 on 35mm format.)

Zeiss says the optic is the world's largest telephoto lens, a claim that is hard to doubt after you learn that it weighs 256 kg (564 lbs.). It uses a servo-controlled aiming and focusing system."

Merry fucking Xmas to you assholes
God dam....

I hate to think how much that thing is worth. Note the arabic written on the lens. It must be a great time to be an oil sheik.

Note that it is mounted on a Hasselblad which is a 6x6 frame camera, so in 35mm equivalent it is only about 1100mm lens.

The other long lens that you want atomizer is the canon 1200mm f5.6 L normally price on application but prices were estimated at around $120000.00 AU. The flurite elements take over six to months grow and the lens takes close to a year to be made. The only downside apart from the cost was it apparently back or forward focuses on digital bodies so manual focus only, but with a 1.6 crop camera you get a 1960mm lens without a converter.

Where's the 'add to cart' button?

Dang, that thing is large!

Although personally, I'd prefer this - http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Hom...x.asp?ComponentID=391350&SourcePageID=26126#1

There is (well was...it's no longer available new) this one:

The Canon 50mm f/1.0 USM! Like the new f/1.2 it's a lens that defies the adage 'you get you what you pay for'. The f/1.4 is much better value for money and considered one the best Canon prime lenses made. With the change you could buy a 30D body, with battery grip, and 2Gb Sandisk Extreme III card.
