My man took me and it was the one of the funniest nights I have ever had out!
Suicidegirls show is very funny and you should all take your girlfriends!!
I don't understand why, I cannot explain...but loads of other females I know dig the SG Burlesque.

"The great thing about the SuicideGirls is that they completely tear down that Pamela Anderson image. They're beautiful ladies with crazy tattoos, piercings and dreadlocks." Dave Grohl

It was really cool!
The Fuzz, the support band was really tight and energetic.
But when the Suicidegirls came out the whole crowd lost it, screaming, jumping up and down. Really overexcited.
One of the girls, Nixon did this excellent ode to Hunter S. Thompson Fear & Loathing theme set. Floppy hat, aviator glasses, cigar, safari shorts, hawaiian shorts. The night featured lots of tartan mini skirts. Another girl, Regan rollerskated around. She pretended to stack it and spat fake blood at us. She had this afro wig and a "vote for Pedro" shirt as her ode to Napoleon Dynamite. Oh I don't know where to start. It wasn't exactly classical ballet, but they are funny girls.
Good music, and they played that awesome vox pop from "Married With Children" where Peggy says to Kelly:
"All it sounds like to me is blah, blah, blah I am a stupid farkin' ho".
Went home covered in whiskey, water, beer, fake blood, cream and confetti!!!
What can I say? All the music I like, a Peggy Bundy quote and over excited people! What else would you want on a Tuesday night in Perth?

before I went I thought it was going to be artsy fartsy, self indulgent...but I have spent Wednesday and today telling everyone "SG was soooooooo cool."

I fail to see how getting your tits out and making soft core internet porn "empowers women"

Exploitation is still exploitation no matter how many tattoos and piercings you have.

My girlfriend absolutely loathes them too. She says they've torn down years of hard work put in by real women against sexism & exploitation, but hey, it's all right because they don't look like Paris Hilton.

I don't find it exploitive, but thats my prerogative. To me sexual exploitation is young girls in Thailand sold into prostitution standing in windows in Bangkok with numbers pinned to their skirts.

I appreciate some people are uncomfortable with the concept, but the way I see it its adults who have chosen to participate. No one forced to pose for SG. Some people regret posing for SG, some people think it is the same

I would never claim that its a movement that empowers women, like a new form of feminism. But some people who participate in SG would call themselves feminist.

its just another place on the internet to look at naked people...its just another burlesque show. Some people prefer the aesthetic in comparison thats whats on offer from FHM, etc (which I find overly photoshopped and with a really dumbed-down editorial.)

I had fun at their show, but thats me. I like looking at naked people. Each to their own.

I'm going to tomorrow night at the metro with 4 lady friends.
Incidentally a female friend bought me the dvd for my birthday.
Seems all the females in my life want me to watch pierced/tattooed girls get their tits out. Suits me fine.

I'll let you know how it goes.

NCR600: there's two well argued sides to that debate, and I tend to side with the opposite one to you. It's about unconventional girls being able to be seen as sexy/beautiful, and showing that not everyone thinks that the only way a female can be seen as attractive is to have big tits, lots of makeup and fake platinum blonde hair. An environment where people of different shapes, sizes and fashion/lifestyle choice can indulge and enjoy some attention is healthy and good IMO.
I understand how the objectifiation of women can be a bad thing in some circumstancews for those of limited intelligence and perception, but so long as everyone understands that these girls enjoy getting their tits out, I enjoy seeing their tits and that's about the extent of the situation I can't see how it's a bad thing in general.
Sure, some people may think all girls of a certain ilk are slutty because they once saw a show where a girl who looked like that got naked, but I think the vast majority of people worth knowing are a little bit smarter than that.

No shit, spewin I'm booked for tomorrow night!

My take on some current feminist thought (dogma!):

I recently said that a lady walking past had a fantastic arse. A female friend of mine who was next to me spat the dummy because I was objectifying a woman. My response is that from now on when an attractive lady walks past, I'm going to say "Wow, she has a really intelligent and socially indespensable arse."

I think women as a whole have every right to be pissed off and indignant for what they have suffered and still suffer. But I do not see one woman's right to tell another that she may not indulge herself in pleasures that she find satisfying when she has every right and reason to. I almost find it mysogenistic that anyone should try. Sometimes I find a large degree of intellectuall elitism within feminist thought.

Would you all still think it was cool if the DIDN'T have piercings, tatts and Bettie Page haircuts?

Would they still be strong modern women, or just some more wannabe porn stars/strippers?

The exploitation part comes with the contracts they sign with SG.com, apparently some of the most restrictive modelling contracts ever, basically granting SG.com exclusive rights to any pictures of the girls taken anywhere.

Not sayin' naked women, or nudity in general is a bad thing, just sayin'.

Besides why do women have to fit the FHM, SG or any other mould to be considered attractive? SuicideGirls is just an alternative FHM anyways.

Well, I cannot comment on suicide girls, because I have pretty much zero idea of what they are about, it just sounded like a good laugh.

If women do stuff like this to get by and/or people use women who need a living to profit off, it's exploitation. If the women do it voluntarily and/or do it for art, good luck to them.

That's pretty much my naive take on SG.girls.

If it's two enthusiastic and consenting parties, no one is being harmed. To say that the behaviour of gaining gratification out of voyerism will exploit every other genetic similar is to make a quantum leap in my mind.

There is nothing wrong with gratuitous sexuality if both parties take part for pleasure. If there were, every sexual relationship, even between two loving people, would be exploitative.

i have heard of this. thats why many of the original SG's have left and now are a part of godsgirls.com another similar sort of thing being set up but obviously more open in contract means than SG's. thats all that i know on the subject. they are still damn hot though. hahahah. burningangel.com try that one as well :p. hahaha.
