. Spoke to a gp about sore wrists/ ankles/ thumbs and he starts talking to me about arthritis. FFS I’m sure I’m not that old?
I have a similar sentiment. A few months ago I saw a quack about really sore fingers. Got x-rays, ultrasounds, bloods etc. Get the results back & doc reels off a whole list of shit going wrong, and almost as an afterthought, "there's also early-stage arthritis in one knuckle, and the one next to it isn't far behind". I'm only 46, I'm not that fuckin' old!!!!

I broke my thumb two years ago and they told me I have arthritis as well, since he told me I can actually feel it. Wish they didn't tell me now

I had that when I had the ultrasound after dislocating my shoulder.
Is this the first time you have dislocated this shoulder?.
Yep, first time.
I don't think it is, it's a mess in there. I'll let the doctor tell you the rest...

let you google that for me
So we finally found the issue with my leg/knee - an aggravated nerve along with a very tight calf.

We did some exercises to pinpoint the issue and boom, there it was. So now I have a plan and it's just a matter of time to put it right.

The good news is that it's not age related, and not because of my riding. Onwards and upwards!

Leg and calf are getting stronger - weirdly (but not to a physio), my leg feels better the harder I ride...

I did a 35km race at the weekend and my calf feels amazing. If I sit down at the desk too long, it starts to ache.

I'm going on an MTB weekend in a month so let's see how I respond to the next round of strengthening exercises!

This kinda sounds like how my calf / hamstring feels, I guess I should get it sorted. Been a problem for a number of years, only at night (it would wake me up sometimes), but has progressed to tingling in my foot and a dull ache during the day as well.

More recently my knee (same leg) got super sore, physio poked it with needles, taped it, had me doing exercises with no result. He referred me to a specialist and them magically the nek day it stops hurting. So fuck it, I'm going to start riding again until it blows up again.

This is sounding like a slippery disc...

After many years of discomfort, a recently wasted $400 at the physio, some veiled words of discontent from my GP when I asked for a referral to an ortho guy at the request of said useless physio, I finally went to aforementioned GP of discontent and asked him why for does my leg ache and tingle fucking

To which he said probs sciatica or a piriformis issue, which I suspected through the power of google (but didn't mention, they really don't like that), so off for ct scan to rule out spine issues (I'd prefer MRI so I can fake claustrophobia and jag some valiums) and maybe I can sort this thing and finally release my inner cycling beast and get my ftp to 150

The 'years of discomfort' would have had me there long ago. The tingling may be a trapped nerve... It's great getting old.
