Hi all,

I'm proud to introduce South East Queensland Trails Alliance (SEQTA).

SEQTA is being formed at a pivotal time for mountain biking in the region to work towards the vision of endless flow on endless trails.

SEQTA is a collective of riders committed to facilitating the creation of world class mountain bike trails in the region. We educate and engage the riding community about trail care, deliver news on trail issues and events, provide support to local trail care groups and lobby for better trail outcomes.

What SEQTA does
  • Has a vision to create, protect and enhance a diversity of world class mountain bike trails in SEQ
  • Provides structures to support local trail care groups and efforts throughout SEQ
  • Educates and engages the SEQ riding community about trail development, maintenance and lobbying efforts in the region, particularly those riders who wouldn't ordinarily be reached.
  • Makes trail care news, events and issues highly visible to the SEQ riding community
  • Provides strength in numbers and legitimacy to assist with lobbying for better trail outcomes in SEQ

What SEQTA doesn't do
Look after or undertake trail care at any one location
Provide trail maps or location information outside of that directly related to trail development and maintenance efforts

How can you help?
  • Like the Facebook Page and spread the word to your friends
  • Stay tuned to this website and the Facebook page for updates
  • The official website will be launching shortly - this will include the ability for you to become a member of SEQTA

If you're interested in getting involved behind the scenes, email andrew.mtb@gmail.com

How this group looks, what it's prioritories are and the impact it can make are all ultimately up to you, the SEQ riding community, so get involved!

Great news - SEQTA website is now live! Check it out: www.seqta.net.au

The website aims to be a one stop shop for trail care events and trail news. Over time you'll be able to find news blogs from each of the trail care groups around SEQ. The site also has a centralised calendar of trail care events in the region so you won't miss any opportunity to be part of caring for and creating awesome trails!

The other action you can take is to become a member of SEQTA! www.seqta.net.au/join-seqta.html

From the website:

"Be part of what we're up to and become a member of SEQTA. As well as being kept in the loop about the latest trail news and events in the region, your membership helps add legitimacy and strength behind efforts to lobby for better trail outcomes. Membership is free, but we do ask that all members commit at least 5% of their riding time to giving back to the trails they enjoy so much, either through working bees or advocacy efforts. If you ride once a week, all this means is giving up your usual ride 2 or 3 times a year to pitch in instead - a small contribution that will help create, protect and enhance a diversity of world class mountain bike trails in SEQ!"

See you on the trails!

Andrew.
