Everyday Carry

Commute - very small multitool, levers, mini pump and tube.

MTB - permanent residents in the Camelbak are a bigger multitool with chain tool on it, levers, tube, patch, spare chain link, mini pump, snake bite bandage. And a few gels.

I used to carry it all the time until I realised that I only ever drunk it at the end of the ride. So fuck it, don't way myself down with the stuff anymore. Hydration is for pussies.

I get thirsty just looking at a climb ahead from the car park. I did one decent ride without water and it was not fun. Probably half in my mind as I am programmed to want a reward for the slightest challenge on a ride.

Same here. Riding with no water is a go home event for me. It outranks everything else for me.

I carry a couple of litres in the Camelbak and still have a water bottle as well! Most rides I get home with the bottle untouched, but it makes me feel better having it there!

what is that, like mace or something?
Apparently - yes. Must be strong stuff. They wont sell it to anyone under 18 and weren’t too happy with me handing it to my 10yo son to hold after I bought it…

That's what an everyday carry should be about. Damn you Aussie gun laws
If this was America then the thread title would have a whole different meaning!

During our morning toolbox meetings i let the lads show off stuff from youtube and the like that they think is cool. EDC came up and some of the kit carried by your average Amurican would put James Bond to shame ... 3 handguns /multiple knives/ bolo tie that doubles as Garrotte wire/ taser/1 million lumen torch/mace ...and that's just to go to the mall!
Show us your integrated tools too - the stuff that fits in BB or head tube.
Close pass this...

Oh how I have missed this sort of chatter! All first aid is dead weight! A tube is also a bandage...just use your shirt to stop the bleeding...

...you only need water before and after the ride. Packless makes me feel free...

I am the over prepared! For many years I had specific set ups for specific ride locations, just short of a whole spare bike! Tubs for shuttle days (fluids, lubes, tyres, tubes, floor pump, proper tools not multitools, work stand in the carpark) tucked in the back of the van (each time a "fuck I need a..." tool issue popped up off to Bunnings and into the tub it went for future times. Big back pack for long rides with water, tubes, snacks, cables, zip ties zip ties zip ties, multi tool this multi tool that, first aid, a hat, sunnies, spare gloves, nail clippers, money, tyre repair gear, pump, shock pump, CO2, chain links...). Now for shorter rides it's hydration aplenty, bag of miscellaneous (zip ties, nail clippers, chain breaker, chain links, other small specific tools, and so on) multitool and another multitool, hat, sunnies, old gloves in case of debris moving, big knife, tiny first aid, money, snacks snacks snacks...think it's easier to just throw up a photo.

It varies depending on what I'm riding and for how long

MTB:
Short rides just a multi tool and drink bottle

Group MTB rides I'm the over-prepared one with
Multi tool
Tube
Patches
Pump
Sugary snacks
Snake bandage
2 drink bottles

Commuting/gravel/longer rides with the kids:
Multi tool
Tube
Patches
Pump
Many many snacks, then spare many snacks.
Snake bandage
2-4 drink bottles
(If commuting then lunch and clean clothes too)

I am disappointed..and here I was thinking that there was going to be a balaclava and a strawberry vape device in that lot somewhere.

Didnt pay $250 for this custom title
OneUp pump with a OneUp EDC multitool, CO2 canister and quicklink stays on my bike along with an MTB Bandit bolted to my saddle with a tube - say you want about Spesh but their SWAT stuff is pretty good.
Henty with a heap of water, couple of snacks and keys/phone

Recent convert to OneUp pump with the multitool inc bacon strips and tool, will eventually get this on the commuter as well. Spare lightweight tube and glue less patches. And small bidon that I never seem to drink as my bloody kids steal the water
