I can confirm that this is definitely not happening. They looked at it, it was ready for production but got canned for some reason.

Are you sure? I recently talked to a ENVE representative, Asking about using their current mtb stem for a SC AM/DH bike. His response is as follows:

Hey *****,
I would suggest holding off buying our current line-up of stems for now. The 75 is capable (he is referring to the current 75mm ENVE stem) but we have some exciting new mountain product in the pipeline...
