Im running an avalanche chubie which has been tuned for my weight and riding style. It's a big improvement over the db inline that came with the frame.

Cheers to rod from crankin for importing such an awesome frame

Avalanche Chubie looks like. Custom coil will probably be my next mod after all this wedding business is taken care of. DB Air is a nice shock but I've maxed out my HSC adjustment trying to tune it and a custom coil for the bike and me only adds a couple of hundreds grams to the weight total.

Custom coil is a great upgrade. Good luck with the wedding, maybe you could include the coil shock on the gift registry

NSDynamics could tune it with more Hish speed if needed. Avalanche would be awesome though. Such great gear.

Seems like a good incentive to put a ring on it.

Yeah, best all round bike I've ridden so far, the rear end is so composed over the rough and is somehow really efficient on climbs and flats. I've never needed the climb switch on the shock, hence the desire for coil.

Might be worth contacting NSD about a custom tune on the CB Air.

Tyre change time.

Maxxis 29x2.5 Minion DHF and Maxxis 29x2.3 Minion SS

Bikes getting a little portly now and definitely way more towards the AM spectrum. But took it for a 40km XC ride last night and it performed perfectly. Did some quick maths and with some lighter wheels/tyres and a Fox CTD shock (which I've got a spare one the right size that'll fit) the bike will weigh 12.6kg, rather than the 13.9kg its currently sitting at

Bikes still going strong. A little muddy this time of year though. I have a Monarch Plus here that I want to send away to get custom tuned for the frame and me. Back on the DB air until then.

Few changes have occurred. Been on this bike for over a year now and there's still not much around that I'm too interesting in ditching it for.

Have fitted:
Hope E4 brakes
New rear rim (busted the old one on a drop at the bottom of Wishing Well at Falls Creek) (also thanks Zelvy for crash replacement warranty )
2.5 DHF and 2.3 DHRII
77Designz chain guide
Hope 10-44 cassette.

Also back on the DB air shock until I get around to sending the Monarch Plus off to get tuned.
