Buller face plant

Jasey boy. Nice one. He's not got love handles, I saw that cut in the flesh (pun intended) at Ballarat. The boy's pretty fit.

oneoneoneoneoneone11111!!!oneoneone11!11!11111

I strained my neck cartwheeling after face planting off that drop off the bridge just before the wall on International a few weeks back and it's still sore.

Gnarly stuff at Buller. Should be some massive amounts of sh*t eating come nationals.

Edit: that side cut it awesome. I nearly fainted when you lifted your shirt at Ballarat and showed us that. I still don't get how you did it, must have been a fairly sharp stick. Ouch ouch ouch

hey tim did matt tell you i want a dirt systems hoody?!?!? they look real good! send us a msg 0412866337 or email yourmumsyourdad@hotmail.com

matt told me about your cartwheel! he said you were doing real well then just lost all touch with downhilling after the fall (hehe basically he said you were a pussy!- kidding!). but yeah hope your neck pulls up good and we'll get up there soon for revenge of the mountain.

i just got back from xray. i took the xrays with me without the report coz im going to the specialist later today. you dont have to be a doctor to know that my nose is a tad broken. its hard to say about whats going on with the cheeck bone but its def disfigured and ill obviously wait for the specialists report.

heres 2 of the ct scans.

How's your face feel today? I certainly don't think you need the X-rays to tell you your nose is busted  You should send some pics of all this action to the maker of your lid. Never know, you may get some kind of sympathy gift! Certainly hope your cheek bone isn't busted, I know how much that sucks (if you brake your zygoma you risk having your orbit drop giving you lateral double vision.....that's what they told me anyway) How's your teeth?

BTW, how stitches did it take to zip up your hip?

Just clarifying, that gash in your side didnt happen in the buller crash did it? I think some people are under the impression it happened all at once, i just thought i'd seen that pic ages ago thats all. Hope the nose/cheek gets better soon bro.

yeah it happened in the first round of king of ballarat at the end of october. i thought i sorta pointed it out in the first post but yeah i guess not everyone reads into detail.

the specialist said broken nose and suspected cheek but wait til swelling goes down. at this stage no corrective surgery needed... that makes mummy happy

thanks rob

send it all off to AMB with a nice story and you might win in their crash of the month comp.

dont know if they are still giving away any of the 661 proddy, but you might be able to snag something else.

the gash is not actually that bad. its only a deep gash into the flesh, its not like anythings fallen out. just a bit of flesh and fat really.

after seeing my brothers forearm break into a compound fracture (both ends of the radius and ulna poked thru the skin) i have sorta been desensitised to this kind of footage.

i came a cropper 4 times (with 4 punctures) on the rock garden in the second straight. the fourth time i got thrown over the bars at about 65km hour (i hammered it thru the rock garden, as i did most of the track)

If you were pulling 65km/h I would be very surprised. It always seems faster when your surrounded by objects like trees and rocks. To put it in perspective, Steve Peate was pulling 64km/h at Les Gets france when he was 1second ahead of Fabian Barrel (before the crash), and that was in the fastest open part of the track. I highly doubt you could pull 65km/h through a rock garden and NOT be sponsored or be winning national championships.

yeh probably an exageration, but it feels so fast. wish id had my speedo (got smashed in an accident) as that would have been able to provide a more accurate speed.

also, if you have seen abom, at the top, in the second straight there is a sort of rough rock garden type patch there. it is quite easy to hammer it thru there. they are more steps than badly placed rocks, so it was just a matter of racing it over the top of them and booting it out the other side. the top of abom is farkin fast. so easy to get caught at the corners with too much speed.

i found the top section until the second step up to be the easiest ofthe track. then again, my bike is built for speed on open sections, andnot those tight techy areas.

im heading into epworth hospital for corrective surgery ('rhinoplasty reduction'- nose job!) 2moro at 7:30am. the 'oral & facial' specialist (thats what it says on the sign out the front) said that coz i still cant breathe out my left nostril after 2 weeks that it will cause problems down the line. it doesnt look too bad now at all but he highly recommends it. so another couple of weeks (4 weeks he reckons) without downhill.

i thought my broken ankle was bad luck. You dont have much luck. Hope ya get better soon. I hope to better for Eildon Nationals.

Oram, re the surgery: get some other stuff too. I recommend an eyelid lift and maybe some Botox for the frown lines. Maybe get the cheek reshaped too.

Kidding.

I emailed you re: the hoody Oram

And Matt is full o' shyte. He went riding at Narby on Saturday but I had to do a bunch of stuff on Saturday and the weekend you went to Buller and got smashed I had to help my bruvva build dad's pergola. I have plenty of excuses don't worry about that.

I want to ride Ballarat Sunday but we'll see how we go. My neck is still very sore, it's pulling my shoulder out and referring pain down the shoulder blades and restricting moverment (read: moving my head around), I need to go to the osteo or physio soon.

Matt doesn't even know what stacking is, that somersault and landing on my neck hurt a lot more than it looked. I was dizzy for the rest of the day but the b@stard kept making me ride.

He needs to have a massive stack, and soon, he's getting too cocky aren't you Matty?

last year i had a speedo at buller for a day, max speed reached thru the day was 52 ish - probably from the end of international, not sure tho.
