9 speed chain-ring and 10 speed...?

Can a 32 tooth 9 speed chain-ring, from a 44-32-22 triple ring setup, be used with a Shimano 10 speed chain on a 2 x 10?

If so, will the ramps shift ok?

Chain compatibility will be fine, but what's the other ring you're proposing to pair it with? That will determine how the ramping works.

I ran older 9 speed front rings on a 2 x 10 set up and it shifted ok. Cranks were 3x and I just used 2 rings with a 10 speed cassette and chain. It was just a commuter where 90% of the time i was in the bigger ring. Front shifted ok but not as nice as the previous 9 speed 3x

Use the XT 32T 3X chainrings, the ramps seem to work better and a bash plate to stop chain drop if you're 2X.
