Hey Irck. You're a Muppet.
1. My super deluxe has 9 clicks and 10 settings. Yours is not a special Norco custom thing.
The settings were deliberately changed in the redesign from Monarch to Deluxe to give more effect per click. Look it up. Just because there's is less clicks does not mean there is less adjustment. It's a ratio.
2. Hifiandmtnbikes made a straight forward contribution that was succinct and accurate.
3.If your shock had 27 clicks it would have 28 positions. If it had 1 click, it wild have 2 positions. Geddit?
4. LBS 'wisdom' is never gospel.
Haha ok.
1. Cheers. The number of clicks was the only info I sought in my original post. Obviously sorted now but I couldn’t find that info prior to contacting Norco or else I wouldn’t have bothered posting. Clearly my googling needs some work. Could you please point me to a link that has that info as I wouldn’t mind having a read through it?
The shock is actually is actually a “special Norco custom thing” (that one I could google). I get that the Super Deluxe has been around for ages but being that this one was resized and tuned specifically for the Optic and (having no previous experience with the Super Deluxe) I didn’t know if this meant that they had a reduced number of clicks. My bad.
Not sure why you’re trying to clarify the level of adjustment, but less clicks exactly means less adjustment. E.g. 20 clicks of rebound would give the user a finer range of adjustment as opposed to only having 9 (21 positions/settings as opposed to 10 positions/settings... again, pretty sure nobody ever refers to their rebound settings on this fashion). This means you have more than doubled your amount of adjustment within that same range. Please don’t confuse this with me saying that I want or need that finer level of adjustment.
2. Hifiandmtb didn’t address what I was asking but that’s all good, I get that there was miscommunication and he (or she) was trying to be helpful.
3. Yep. Thanks for the unnecessary clarification. Again, nothing to do with what I was asking.
4. No one said anything about a LBS. Not sure what your point is?
Just to hopefully make things clear, the original post just asked if 9 clicks of rebound was standard on the Optic’s Super Deluxe as it’s the first I’ve owned. Not sure what’s with the outrage over setting/position terminology or LBSs but I’m loving the passion
