What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Apparently so, I have not used them.

I've used them plenty of times. They are pretty good - fast dispatch, good service, reasonable range, sweet prices some times, delivery is $$$ as to be expected. I threw some sunglasses in my order. 2 pairs didn't change the shipping, but the third pair bumped it from $40something to $74.something.

Took the Kiddo to the You yangs women’s shuttle day. Dads were encouraged to bring their daughters. We just did the tamest descending trail a few times as she’s only done the flat side of the hill a few times and it was dry and sketchy. 2nd run she was killing it. 3rd run she was getting cocky. Over cooked a loose skatey berm and ended up in the bushes and gave herself a fright. Confidence was cooked after that. Rolled a bit further and there’s a rock dip into a creek crossing which she blasted through earlier , she was now having none of that. On the other side though was a group of women having a coaching session on that feature and saw my daughter struggling, encouraged her to do it with them and was stoked all over again.
I think a bike upgrade is on the cards though. She was definitely hitting the limits of the mid range kids bike and she already hassling me filler another shuttle day. She’s not overly keen on peddling.

The absence of male teenage adrenaline fuelled testosterone on the shuttle busses was pretty pleasant I must say.

Was an awesome day!

Went to look at the enduro racing at Meehan and totally failed to find a viewing location at a time when anyone was coming past…

Signed up for one lap of the Meehan Monster next weekend to confirm exactly how fucking slow I am these days…

Hah, I was there too! I couldn't stay all day though.
The vibe was ace, I hope they do more of these events.
My boys came along to ride while I was busy being social. We rode track 5 back to the car and my son eyeballed a rock roll, said "oh yeah, that looks ok" and proceeded to nail it. Proud Mum is proud.

See if you can stretch to a 26 if possible. makes parts slightly easier to swap/even tyre combo's. Some are pretty weighty so you can shed some weight with some off the shelf parts.
Just got my neice a 26er last year and shes done a few of the junior MTB coaching days over the school holidays, shed some weight with just a new set of tyres and got a dropper from Wiggle to replace the seatpost and seems to be okay, about the same weight as the standard Trek post supplied. Also good way to hang on/get rid of your 26 gear/lasts another generation.

Edit:
Also @Jpez there are a lot of girls focused MTB classes and groups around to which is a great thing, even some MTB specific girls clothing brands that are local too.
For $30 a riding shirt Canberra company can't go too wrong.

After a busy few weeks I needed a day of quiet today, so after finishing off a novel this morning I decided to just go for a squirt around the local gravel loop, albeit slightly re-routed after the return of much water... Bloody nice day out, warm but with a mild breeze (helps blow the flies away, lol). Perfect. :)

Did you write the novel about the relationship between chainstay lengths and reach?

My daughter was given a bike by a friend so we had to take it to the ice cream shop to try it out.
It is bit a step backwards from Jpez's Prevelo but it is pink which scored a lot of points. She says it is very heavy so we'll see how long it lasts before it gets put to the side. She ripped on her 16" but it was getting too small.
