This is a 30 klm ride around Lake Tinaroo on the Atherton tablelands in FNQ. I spose it wasnt technically AM, but it certainly wasnt groomed XC either.

There was a wide variety of bikes, from 29er anthems, to top of the line SWorks enduros,so all bases were covered!
!:tape:
Dammit! Missed out this time... Tinaroo is a good fun ride.
Was down in Townsville for Chrissy with the folks, at least I got a ride at Douglas as a consolation.

Did the Townsville crew like that one more than Glacier?

Yeah it was a bit more rideable than Glacier.
Hard to believe from the footage that even 15 minutes before the ride started it was raining so hard the road was flooding.
Told you the ground around there drained well.
It was a good ride, pretty unique to have 12 riders do a combined 360km over fairly rough terrain with no mechanicals, punctures or significant crashes.
Maybe we just ride too slow and conservatively - well at least I know I do

Some cool vids in here ! Already in phat vids, but inspired by digitalhippie and others in this thread I brought my iphone and a mini tripod out to a local trail and had a lot of fun filming this. Not exactly AM, but some tech, rooty goodness :)

an old man pretending to fly...

in the shadow of self-shooting giants on this thread, here's 17 seconds of a local trail with some fun bits. Plus its butterfly season! as you ride around the trails, a cloud of orange butterflies springs up... nice day, short blast, fun was had!

Here's my effort - a track I built and filmed to show my mates who live elsewhere, you'll have to push through the first POV section (ran out of time on the day I filmed it), it gets better after that, all self shot on a $12 camera off ebay!

Grandma's

Wow.
"I could get spontaneously pregnant out here" said one rider.

A spot I had not ridden before and it is true AM riding. Bastard hard climbs and wicked descents, massive granite roll overs and sketchy crushed granite corners.
The tracks starts about 1000m above sea level and was truly stunning, so glad I moved here.

I just spent a bit of time up in the Barrington tops, on the in-laws property. Was tuff riding back up when I was by myself. But the misses found a way to enjoy riding with me. She rides the quad and I ride the bike.. :) Plus I get shuttles when I'm stuffed and can't be assed riding back up. :)

Here's some pics from my iphone;

Some of the scenery out on Sugarloaf Mt was awesome.

The riding up was hard work, but the reward was some pretty steep and sweet down hill. One track is about 5km of constant downhill rock trails and single, with 470m or vertical drop.

The quad trying to catch up... lol

Finish with a sunset. :D

I also got up to a bit of track building. I started making a bit of a slalom/fun track for me to work on when I go up there and for my little nephews to muck around on. The two top berms will be made into one single large berm as they are all wrong. But the bottom berm is getting there.

Bottom berm;

Top half of the track so far.

The start

Got some shots together from the xmas trip, taken in Queenstown and Naseby. Not too many trail shots sorry but the video got a few of them. Once again thanks to rjackson33 for his camera work.

I have been playing with how to process the vid to keep a watchable quality but drop the file size, starting to get there. But for some reason when I upload the aspect changes from the 16:9 I record at???

This is a track at my local play area called Rowies.

This is my first video using media live. My computer couldn't handle processing it at the highest quality but this is still pretty good. It was very wet and dark yesterday.

Mark and I were having a comp. He filmed himself using his GoPro at the same time and made a similar vid. Bonus points if you can spot his GoPro in my vid.

Nice riding.

Have a look at a video editing plugin called twixtor, It allows you to add in smooth slowmotion digitally.

Here's an example :

Finally got off my ass and did a spot of self filming, was debating whether I'd put this up here but meh, I could use the critique. Keep in mind this is just as a test, nothing close to a finished product (explaining the tonnes of filler at the start).

I know filming takes ages, but this self filming stuff is deadly on an admittedly too hot day without proper cover to moderate temps. Excuse the horrible riding style, hopefully next time I'll be filming someone with talent rather than myself.
