XT M785 bleeding

Hi guys and girls. I've bought a second hand (hardly used) set of xt brakes, and I'm finding them a bit tricky to bleed. Has anyone else found this?

Hmmm...I was trying to adapt Avid bleeding methods/equipment to the XT's, and not having any luck! Think I might just bite the bullet and buy a Shimano bleed kit, although there only seems to be genuine Shimano ones around - at a silly price. Did you guys use the Shimano kit when bleeding em?

I found the easiest way is to bleed backwards.

Use the Avid kit and two syringe's

Pull plunger out of the lever one and set it up.

Fill the bottom one with fluid and attach to caliper, open bottom valve slightly and slowly inject. You should see the fluid start to leave the lever and enter the syringe.

Found this also avoid pushing bubbles further into the system as bubbles rise with the fluid.
