World cup team changes rumor thread

The plot is certainly thickening on the Gwin front.

Richie's been beating up a murdered SB6 for off-season DH duties, so I don't see Yeti putting together a WC DH team let alone releasing the SB platform as an SB8, yet- Yeti have been in a nice pasture the last 3-4yrs thanks to their XC & trail bikes (SB series) so they'd been consolidating & looking to build on the company's development to maintain/if not retain a foothold after losing Jared Graves (way beyond the help of the warm n fuzzy the Yeti tribe cult following, Jared was the ultimate marketing tool & shifted unit for Yeti). As a small company Yeti need to be making hay while the sun's shining to recoup their investment in frame making technologies, patents & R&D- not pissing it away on a WC DH team/campaign. Either way Yeti will be having to get another high caliber rider to join Richie on the EWS/enduro circuit, so it's not like it's a case f hving freed up a swag of money with Jared's departure. No way in hell Gwin's going to Yeti, & there's a sweet splinter's chance of Yeti supplying one-off, never to be released proto frames as they did with Jared 2013 carbon rig. Richie'll bash out the (barely) handful of races he enters for 2016 on an SB6. An SB8 on the horizon? Sure, maybe.

Infinitely higher likelihood of a YT/KTM, Trek/Godspeed, Mondraker GodHart team.

A bit more credence to the Loic/Specialized connection after someone picking up on him wearing Specialized shoes in a recent photo.

Pinkbike comments (so take it as you will) suggest he's asking 500k.
if that is what Gwinn is asking i think its fair as last season he got the wins and results.
A big part of there job is also to sell bikes and he proved that the demo and his skill are a winning combination and considering the ridiculous price specialised put on there bikes they are making there 500k back easily.

I think Gwinn left specialised not over money but more he didn't agree with the values the company represents toward the rider.

I like were ajay`s going . It has to be Intense or SC . Both are high end frame focused complete build`s ' trying ' . But Intense , since CK and Bernat really have`t been up on the steps and thats not taking away from Josh Button or Jack thats on fire right now . Has anyone asked Jack ? . He`s on here .
Josh hasn't ridden an Intense for years, he's on the Giant Australian team. ;)

What I heard was he was asking in the range of 600k give or take
I've heard nothing about the figure he asked for so I won't comment on it, but in terms of "bike selling capacity" or return on investment, I wonder how much more than everyone else he's actually worth?

Nothing! He wins on a Demo but so does Troy. All the good guys win on whatever they're riding. He is, however, entitled to put a value on his services just as Specialized are entitled to decline them.

Looks like Specialized figured they'll get better value out of Troy and Loic plus increase their presence in Enduro with Graves, all for not much more than they would have spent if they just kept with status quo on riders.

I'm not referring to how winning they are on particular bikes, because that doesn't necessarily dictate their worth. Look at Sam Hill, he had a great year in 2014, but hasn't really delivered what he's capable of in recent years, though he is still a marketing machine. So quite apart from Gwin winning lots of races, I wonder how much gravity he has in a marketing sense.

Transition don't but they will........

Gwin will not be on an Intense.

That is definately not code for Gwin on Transition.

Intense do have a pretty cool team roster this year though....
