I don't know the brands you got down there on the other side of the globe, but a good quality lithium based grease is universal for almost any application on a bike, from ball bearings, to seat posts.

Around here a good choice is Castrol APS-2, which is cheap and available as well.

marine grease. its waterproof and it comes in the 400grm cartridge. It will keep the water out of your bearings and not break down when water touches it.

also its bloody cheap.

If you are after a lower friction grease one with high lithium or teflon would be the choice.

you dont need high pressure grease or anything like that.

How often?

Guys. how often are u greasing ur lower link bearing?
weekly fortnightly?,
after every mtb ride?
have u had a seal blow out?
Do u find the grease coming out at 1 point?

You don't need to change grease all that often. Maybe every 6 months. I changed my grease not long ago after riding for 6 months, and it was still practically clean.
