What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Waterproof PVA though, they don't seem to dissolve unglue when it gets wet.
Is that the same thing you can spray on your garden beds to stop the woodchips or stones moving around?
I thought my sister-in-law was joking about it but it’s a real thing

Found some time to lace up my AliExpress Carbon rims... I wanted to build up a lightweight wheelset for my Optic to make it a bit lighter and more sprightly, the factory wheelset are Stans flow S2 which allegedly weigh almost 2200g.
I was a bit surprised at what these came in at, and now also a bit scared. They're CarbonBeam Assymetric, 30mm internal, in the beefed up 130kg rider weight option which gives me a lot of room for cake. Dt350 hubs, CX-ray spokes + brass nipples. The front still needs tensioning, but I've already given the rear a run down a track they have no right going down and happy to report it's still in 1 piece.
Front - 681g + Rear - 802g = 1483g
Also have a Garbaruk cassette waiting to be put on which should drop another 150g in all the right places.

Do you know how durable it is when (lightly) raking leaves off?

Finished building the lads bike, only one mercy run to the LBS as I had no more hydraulic hose, and of course the front brake wasn't long enough for a straight swap. Should be a pretty fun bike. Will need to fit it for him. Going to Tumbarumba for Easter and I believe there are a few tracks there for a test run.

Looks like a real fun rig, and those stock Z1 graphics match the frame perfectly! Nice one.

Rode it again, twice in a week must be some sort of record for me!

I really shouldn't have gone out as everything was still very soggy, but ended up doing one trail then a fire road loop. Did a beginner trail at the end and nearly ate shit when a braking bump puddle swallowed my front wheel but managed to stay upright.

Pretty sure I did much more pushing up hills than actual riding, but still had fun.

It’s good to see Paul Cole (and others) keeping things going there. I didn’t try any of the trails through the new growth, just rode the loop that’s about to be logged.

Apparently some of the new trees are heading to five metres, and looks like Captain Cranky’s Climb (named after a psycho magpie) will be rideable without fear of death.

I was pretty surprised at how fast the new trees sprung up, it’s not so exposed anymore. It’s a couple of years since I last was there, I imagine it’s looking better now.

Got the Orange out for a spin on Mt Wellington. Being back on semi regular commuting to the office is starting to pay some minor dividends in climbing ability which is nice.

Closing it up on Monday but you can still go under the road and over the back to Sidewinder and Pinball then it will be newish trail, they pulled the bridges out on Tuesday and Paul was eyeing off some new lines in the new replanted stuff.
The pines grow about a metre a year so they do well out of the forest, and Paul heads out there without fail most Tuesdays with a bunch of Retired Rascals to tidy up and get some work done.
Thought I better get a run in on Tuesday as I thought it was going before this weekend, they are still pulling logs out of the older logged areas to, so if going during the week, they absolutely hammer the trucks through those dirt roads, you can hear them but on the dirt they have nothing to break so something to be aware of.
We will also be using the access road for Kowen next weekend for the Rally.

Headed out to the Latrobe, Wild Mersey trails and rode the Railton Express to Railton. Had a bite to eat and returned the way we came.
Great to finally have the track built up to the suspension bridge.
Legs were still feeling good so the had to be punished, so I chose to ride back to Ulverstone and meet my wife there.
62km all up, a top day on the bike. Loving the new Stumpy.
