That must be one of those Shimano hubs I hear so many good things about ..?

Fuck no. Similar symptoms though.

Doubt Shimano hind would have survived the 20,000km these have seen though.

New bearings arrived on Wednesday, first job on the list for the weekend.

Couldn't find any stock of what I wanted, so made up some needle roller shock hardware for both ends on the Propain. The Pro10 linkage has a lot of rotation around the shock mounts so should see some benefit. It definitely feels silky smooth compared to the bushings.

Friday was the 1st day of my 350km in a month challenge for Starlight's Tour de Kids (donation linky link).

Started with a positive 1.04km lol.

But, backed it up yesterday with 25kms to get this train wreck back on track!

Washed it, lubed it, put new bearings in it. Freehub is a little tight, just need to find where I put the shims.

Nice to have a clean bike that doesn't rattle when you look at it.

Yep, got spoilt by all my girls... and then to top it off, Sue shuttled me to the top of two of my favourite Red Hill roadside trails... for about 50 minutes of descending. Awesome.

Rode my mtb today. Rode it further than I've ridden it in the last 3 weeks. 37kms, but cheating a bit as it was bike path mixed in with some small local jumps and features.

Just had an hour or two on the dirt lumps at Hornsby and I noticed 2 things. Firstly I am well out of shape for the bike! Secondly I am not ready for summer. It's a pretty mild day and I am soaked with sweat.
