We've lost the desire... how do we get it back?

Jabubu

let you google that for me
I have as well, the bike has been sold.

I'm sure when the time and the weather permits I will regret and re purchase
Oh no!

The relentlessly shit weather has me on a downer but I know if I sold the bike I'd

a) Not get a good price for it
b) Not have the money for a new one

It's coming out when the rain is gone!

a) Bike was 10 years old..... so,,,,, probably gonna die at some point.
I will too I guess :)

b) if I get keen I'll just pretend there is money

I think that we've been really limiting ourselves for all of these years. The correct number of bikes to own is aₙ=2ⁿ where n is the number of bikes you currently have and a is the number of bikes you should have.

I used to be massively into endurance sport - first running ultra marathons (100km, 100mile) then cycling.

In 2017 I did the Haute Route Pyrenees and Alps back to back (1800km, 60 000 vertical meters, basically a 6-8hrs on a bike every day for 2 weeks in the big mountains in France). It was amazing but it was so hard that it totally and permanently killed my desire to do very long endurance sport.

Now I just do a lap of Manly Dam or 1hr ride every now again and have found other sporting interests. If the desire is gone it's OK to move on.
