Official launch meeting

For those that could not attend, last night's meeting and official launch of Warrandyte Mountain Bike Club Inc was a great success.

Close to 60 attendees heard about the official formation of the club, affiliation with MTBA, trail building discussions with Parks Victoria, the format for official club events/rides, and the introduction of the club kit.

A number of new members signed up (if you haven't done so, got to www.warrandytemtb.com.au and fill out the form) and there were many orders taken for the club kit.

A picture of the kit and the price list is attached. The gear is the high quality Santini brand. The green in the pic looks flouro, but in the flesh it is PMS354C which is darker. The deadline for orders 31st July if you wish to order yourself some. Sample jerseys are available to try on if necessary before you order. PM me to arrange a fitting. The order form is at this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/otxms5i0fvjvwxv/MTB3113_KitOrderForm.pdf

If you can't make it to us and still want to order, be aware that the fit is "tight" so it is recommended to go up a size from your normal jersey. The men's kit comes in a "race" and "social" range. The difference is in the fabric quality. Women's kit is offered in the higher quality "race" range only.

The club had it's first social ride last Sunday and also handed out kit to the members. Three groups went riding (fast, social, and kids pace) with the rides ending with a BBQ and some fun games for the kids.

The new kit looks amazing and our membership is growing. Exciting times are ahead for mountain bikers in and around Warrandyte with local MP Ryan Smith making an announcement this Saturday that will affect everyone that rides in the area. If you are around and can spare 30 minutes to hear what he has to say, be at DM Cycles (http://www.dmcycles.com/) in Yarra Street, Warrandyte at 9.30am this Saturday.

Membership is open to all riders. The form is here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1LizcjMYUyR-Ttldu0TmrgqLgjML52cqGBIXGs1FlRyE/viewform

The way i read this statement it seems like a majority of funding is about linking already existing 'paths/trails' to Burke Rd/MM trails?
Not to point sticks at any funding towards cycling but it would be interesting to see how much is actually set aside for the development of sustainable ST in and around the local w'dyte area opposed to bike paths that link the YT's/MM areas?
