why is it that when anyone else, e.g danny hart has a lairy as all hell fast as buggery run its considered luck, but if, and when sam hill does it, its considered magical tallent?

Sam is a multiple world champion.

Danny hasn't won a single world cup.

That and if you watch Danny for just 10 seconds you'll see him nearly crash 4364 times.

Sam frequently pulls out mind blowingly fast runs, that are seconds ahead of other riders. Danny is freakishly fast in sections but seems to make a lot of mistakes. However as can be seen from the weekend at fort william, when he does keep it together he can make a super quick time. Even with mistakes he still does an excellent time, something that not many racers can boast (Except: you guessed it, Sam Hill)

Stoked for two races in two weekends, we are spoilt. I really want to see Blenkinsop pull a win here as he looked on fire last year. Is Brendog racing?

Im starting to think Sam's becoming a word champs specialist ,like Nico was back in the day.I really would like to see Gwin take the series,it's been a long time since the yanks had something to glote about.

Not a huge fan of Danny Hart but he's wild and I think that will see him win races int eh future. To be honest he's a bit like Sam was a few years back. Lets it all hang out to really get a result and it'll either end in tears or a great result.
I reckon having had some big offs, Sam is taking less risks. Result? He'll still win races but I'd be interested to see of he can still dominate and make other riders look slow the way he has in the past. Don't worry kids - I'm not writing him off. He's still amazing but I think he's going to get a little more conservative.

Clipped in

This might be a dumb question, but wouldnt it be worth Hill's effort to clip in for South Africa and even Fort william. Seems alot of time to lose on those pedally bits.
Never ridden clips, are they that hard to adjust too?

I think it comes down to confidence. If you feel 5% more confident on flats then over the entire course that will make a lot more time than you would on the pedally section with clips. Considering what level or performance he is at I'm sure he's at least tried clips.

I don't reckon clips are the issue. Will be interesting to see how he does this weekend. Watched the helmet cam of the track and a lot of it very much suits Sam.

If its a wet race I think we could see some of the old Hill magic , otherwise I'm not expecting much. (Hope to be proven wrong there of course.)

because sam hill can ride like this \/ \/ \/ all the way down a hill, and not only does he manage to stay on the bike, he wins ;)........

Leogang is where he binned it innit ... and he missed last year ... so I reckon theres a point to prove ...

I was reading the Gee, Greg, Sam interview in Dirt re 2011 WCS ... and I got the vibe that he was focusing on races that suited him only, as opposed to killing himself on all tracks like in 2009.

This is all fitting in so far, along with the supposed Beer gut summer of 10/11 training regime ... I reckon Sam for the Win and fastest quali .:cool:

yeah, its was the track he did himself in on last year, thats got to be on your mind while your out there racing it again the first time after what went down last yeah,

im hoping to see Hill higher up the leader board this weekend, but still two tops tens at the last world cups with the quality of the riders out there isnt too bad, might not be want the sponsors want but still top 10 is a top ten

No he did himself at fort william as stated above your post as well.
He didnt get to ride this track last year did he?
