Tyre fitting question

Hi all

getting a new front tyre but unsure if it will fit in fork, an 02 psylo

will get either a maxxis minion fr 2.7" 40a or the michelin comp32 2.8"
i know that the minion will fit as they are actually 2.5"

has anyone tried the michelin in the psylo before?
i dont know if it is actually 2.8" or smaller than the stated size

the manual has 2.7" as max tyre width, and there is 2.75" clearance in the fork

if the 2.8" fits i will get that, if not ill go with the minion

any advice will be appreciated
cheers

im running michy comp 32s on my marzocchi shivers at the moment, and although that can fit a 4 inch tire..... (read on, lol :))

Ive found that the michys are smaller than my high roller 2.7's so it should fit

Even if you have a few mm clearence, you might get some rub on tighter cornering as the tires flex sideways. Wont be a major issue unless small rub marks in ur fork worry you.

michelin comp32s run pretty true to size, which is to say that they're a big tyre. maxxis tyres, on the other hand, tend to run small, so i'd say it's pretty much guaranteed that a 2.7 minion will fit in there.
