Here's a pictorial of the latest undertaking from the man shed...

Like so many others on here, I've decided to build another new bike simply to spend money
and for the love of shiny new things.
Here's the majority of the parts in their first social setting together. They were quite
nervous at first but relaxed enough for a picture.

Next task was to dissassemble the frame to check that things jived and ligned up.

2 Dismantle.JPG

Took this opportunity to clear tape the usual wear areas.

3 Clear Taped.JPG

Next job is frame reassembly with lube and loctite on all pivot hardware.

Frame coming together again.

Next step before fitting the shock is internal routing(easier to check articulation and clearance).

Contact screw out and fluids added.

I will now remove air can and add a few volume spacers... Nope. Already came pre-loaded. Take 2 out.
19 Fox Spacers.JPG

Spoiler Alert!!! They went back in after 2 rides.

Shock and final bits installed.

Time to get it dirty.

Update.
Sold the DT wheels and fitted some bling... ENVE M70/30 connected via Sappim CX-Ray spokes to King hubs with XD driver and X01 cassette.
And a Syncros mud guard that bolt on instead of the usual zip ties.

I found that the bolt on guard didn't stop sand and other stuff getting on the fork seals as well as the zip tie guards.

Superb build. And I'm impressed with your patience in stripping down, wrapping and rebuilding. Enjoy, especially with the new wheels! Get some Cushcore if you've not done so already..

Was a slow and painful exercise. Much frustration along the way. Luckily I had another formidable steed in the stable to quench the thirst.

Cushcore or the likes is on the radar but not too rushed. @ 74kg I am quite gentle on rims. But maybe when I'm permitted to ever buy bike stuffs again.....
