Thinking of giving a gravel bike a crack

Jabubu

let you google that for me
Picked up a new Norco Search XR S1 today, pretty happy with it, think it has at least 500gm off the S2. Also got another $120 off final price. Big ups to 99Bikes at Mitchell, pretty helpful guys.

Yep, I can see that, reckon this would cut at least 30% of mine.
This one?

Yup.

Think I will need a shorter stem though. I feel like I'm leaning too far forward and the neck will get a little sore the longer I ride. Need to be a touch more upright in the saddle.
I had to swap mine out for the exact same reason. Pity cos the stock painted stem looks mint.
Also had to put a non offset post and swap the stock saddle out.

You have an offset post? I thought they all came with a straight post, mine does. The 2021 model looks to have an offset dealio though.

I got mine peak covid. Seems to have been a few spec substitutions/changes over the last 2 years. Different WTB tyres etc.

n00b question - are there any differences between stems for road and gravel bikes?

So I need to get an 80mm stem (prob not more than 7 rise, but prefer 0) as the cockpit is a little too long for me and I'd like to be a touch more upright.

There's many brands of stems that I'm unfamiliar with (BBB, Pro, Zipp, Deda, Vision, etc.). A couple that I'm looking at are:
https://www.wiggle.com/au/p/ritchey-comp-4-axis-84d-stem?color=black&stemLengths=80mm @ $71 from Wiggle
https://www.wiggle.com/au/p/easton-ea90-stem?color=black&stemLengths=80mm+Length+|+0° @ $157 from Wiggle (little more than I want to fork out)
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com...-bike-stem?color=black&stemLengths=80mm+|+73° @ $116 from CC, but I'm not sure how to understand the degree of rise here, 73 or 84)

I've only chosen those ones right now as I'm familiar with those brands. Are there any brands that I should be avoiding?

Surprised at how little choice there is in Aust - Pushy's only has a single 80mm stem on offer!
