The three best parts I've ever bought are....

As an alternative to the thread where you name the parts you'd never buy again, I'm cracking out the "best parts I've ever bought" thread.

I've bought far more excellent parts than bad parts during my MTB addiction, It's hard to name three of the best, but here goes:

Cannondale Chase frame.
Why? Because I have put that frame through so much shit and it has never cracked nor failed.

DMR STS chain tensioner.
Why? Because it's tough, sturdy and does the job as well as it possibly could. In other words, it has never farked up once.

Manitou Sherman Jumpers.
Why? As with the frame, I have given these forks heaps of shit and they are still strong, plush and up to whatever I want to throw at them.

Close runners up are the E13, Stinky 03 frame, 41Thermal cranks and 721 rims.

What are the three best MTB parts you've ever spent your hard earned on?

scblack

Leucocholic
Mojo Boxxer cartridge
Creates the best, plushest fork available.

SRAM X-0 rear Derailleur
Always changes gear easily, solid click into place, very little maintenance required.

E-13 SRS Chainguide
Both bikes have one for DH & 4X, only ONCE ever dropped a chain in 3 years use.

Five Ten Impact shoes - Grippy, comfy, durable and save the shins. They inspire confidence for corners and rough stuff.

E-13 SRS - Strong, faultless mechanically and look good.

The right weight spring for my rear shock - Improves riding sooo much and lets you get the most out of your bike.

Shimano DX Pedals (old school red ones)
- indestructible, still work perfectly after 10yrs of on and off use without any service, and they were bought second hand at the time aswell
- great spd pedal to start off with

The Lead Donkey aka Ironhorse Sunday 06 Elite
- its just on the money, i still get a massive grin everytime i ride the bike even after a year. It has been virtually faultless, perfectly balanced for DH and suits my riding very well. Came with a great spec, definately dont regret that purchase.

Shimano Saint Brakes
- solid, reliable, good modulation, surprisingly powerful for their size, just to the job without any issue whatsoever, highly recommended, easy to service (not that it required any)

Honourable mention
- SRAM shifters in general they just felt so natural from the start, even after years of riding Rapidfire, i found my self adjusting to using rapid fire again after test riding the SRAMS for a couple of days.
- E13 Guide just does the job indestructibly, just requires the correct setup which isnt rocket science. Both of mine have been to hell and back still worked perfectly
- 5.10s only a new convert to these shoes but im rating them very highly

Hope pro ll hubs:

Cheap from crc, sounds really nice, light for the abuse they can take, great colours and nice looking. Seem durable so far.

06 Rockshox Pike 409:

Look hot, adjustability is great, light weight for what they can take, stiff with the great maxle setup. Soak up the trails really well.

Maxxis Larssen tt tyres (2.35, single ply, 60a):

Seem pretty light weight with the kevlar bead (not sure if they actually are in the scheme of things), hook up really nicely, roll well and best of all slide very predictably. Last pretty well too. I love mine, best tyre ever!

my best 3 are
pro taper bars super strong and light 3 years old now
race face diablous cranks fit and forget
and last my odi lock on grips

runner up good things are

pro tec ace helmet
thomson post

Iron horse Sunday factory frame

- Light, fast, perfectly balanced, corners like its on rails
- Takes a lot of abuse
- A rare Blue - thought it was rare until Hobart Nat’s round - 8 turned up

Whistler Lift Pass

- So much fun for so little money
- Still looks good even after you have returned home (hanging of chair)
- Improved my riding ability - and my drinking.
- But it did cost me an engagement ring to let me keep using it (mrs got upset after the 2nd week of riding - so out with the ring = ride as much as I like (the mountain that is))

Troy lee D2

- Now on my third - hit my head to often.
- Comfy, light, good protection.
- Arguably one of the best looking helmets out there.

Saint brakes - simply the best... there simplicity/power/feel/ is far superior than their avid or hope counter parts.

721 rims - the best combination of weight and strength... and looks:)

Maxxis Minion tyres - need I say any more....

King headset - set and forget!

Thomson post - raddest shit out.

Yeah i know, its more than three... Everything else gives me issues.

Haha, good joke.

My top 3:

Shimano Saint cranks:
Had them installed for a few months solid (had them for 14 months total) with out tightening anything and the pinch bolts were as tight as the day they were installed.

Shimano Saint brakes
They haven't even bedded in yet and they are still the strongest, yet best modulated brake I have used.

Rockshox Pike 426
Very adjustable, very light, very strong and all up a fantastic feeling fork.

My 3 best parts that i've bought are:

5.10 impact shoes: Very grippy, last a long time and very comfy. Once your foot gets in the right place it will never move.

Saint Brakes: work excellent, great modulaltion and not too powerful so they dont throw you over the bars.

Downhill Tubes: Without these i would be buying new tubes every week. They last long and take a hell of a beating.

ps: downhill tubes probably arnt one of the best but they are good.

Fox Mojave Gloves because they just keep on going, despite years of abuse

Hydraulic Disk brakes not a specific part I bought, but awesome nonetheless.

My first el cheapo suspension fork because it lead me further into the dark realms of mountain biking. And this was about 10 years ago....
