get permision

get permission from the land owner/manager.

make friends with someone with many many many hours of trail building.

Flow is about how the trail fits into the environment.

This is going to sound like some kind of Zen wank but it really comes down to what the lay of the land will let you build.

A good trail will suit the land, not the other way around.

Flowy Tracks

I definately agree with Refreshinglygood in that you need to build a track that fits the enviroment. I recently started building a short DH/FR track with some cool step downs and burms. If you have take offs close to the burms and you rail the burm then do a good lenght step down it feels awesome and is really flowy. Its always good to add burms were you can and it will make the track flow from section to section really well.
Hope that helped a bit. Good luck with the track.

Exactly! Building a flowey trail isn't overly easy but it can be done. You will need to do a fair bit of walking and investigating legal sites to make your trails and then plan it. Don't rush in and cut the nearest tree down so you can make a big berm, do it properly and use the trees to your advantage.
Take your time and it may turn out better than you expected.;) It does take some good advice and good experience to get something just right.

hey, first off what you have to do for flowy single track is find a good spot for a bit of downhill. this should probably be the start of the track if you dont want to many uphills, get a good rake and start to clear out logs and leaves and the single track should start to take shape, make sure you put in a lot of turns which later on you can turn into small berms and maybe the occasional large berm. when all of the clearing out for the track is done start to build some obsticles. to gain speed at the start build a berm early on and then build some small doubles. hope this can help with your track, good luck
