I love how in the photo advertising the camp, the guy isn't riding a specialised, it isn't Shaun O'Connor and its not at where the camp will be held. Priceless.

I looked into it. Sounds like a fun weekend.
But for $700+, there is no way it's worth it.
Think I would rather put the money towards my bike!

Yeah $700 is fair steep but that includes all your accomodation, food, passes etc
And shaun has had some impressive results in the wc circut so im sure he can offer some great advice and insight.
personally do I think its worth it....not sure we will have to wait until we here back from af_freeman13

If it was sam hill, gee atherton, graves, peaty then I would say it would be very well worth it, they have their game completly dialed with years of experience at the top.

Dont get me wrong shaun is a awsome rider with amazing skills and would be great to see him take out the worlds or world cup circut in the future and any information from a better rider especially one on the worldcup circut will be benificial.

I think it is pretty good value for money when you think about for $796 which includes everything (food, accomodation, lift pass etc) except for driving down there.
If I decided to spend a weekend at Mt Buller after travelling there and back, accomodation, food and most likely bike repairs i usually would have spent about $800, if not more.

Does this mean he will teach me race lines, like shortcuts and stuff?
Yes. That is how the pros go so fast, they also have special moves and secret passages you can go through.
From what I understand there are power-ups too, like SPEED X 2 and NO DAMAGE.

Such a stupid cheap shot.....People too weak to follow their own dreams will always find a way to discourage others! I hope Shaun makes it to the top one day just so he can stick it up you haters.

Is quite hilarious that you piped up about it so much when he probably did mean "race lines". Are you a senior member of his fan club?

I think this is n inside joke for those that raced with Shaun years ago.
$700 with all expenses sounds alright, so it works out about $100 a day for tuition?

Mate your an absolute Crayon! Clearly if you had sus'd the guys profile you would know he's not a youngen with wording issues.... Fan club? Sorry, I didnt think their was any form of issue with admiring someone for making a part time career out of downhill cycling in the most competitive nation in the world. Dont think I have even heard of anyone but Nathan Rennie sticking there hands up to help the rising stars of the sport in the last few years.

Crayon? I hope it's at least Crayola brand.

Sorry I didn't get all Tom Selleck on his profile.

Admiration is fine but you seem to be overly defensive regarding this tongue in cheek statement and it was clearly something that was common knowledge within the DH racing community.

I also wouldn't say it was to help 'rising stars' but rather a skills clinic where any punter can go. There were / are still a couple beig offered up in QLD by another junior wc rider not so long ago.

I think your taking about the coaching clinics Rhys Willemse did before going overseas last year? Rhys, like Shaun, do it to make some spending money for overseas. Its so hard for Aussie riders to get FULL paid rides when you're just out of the junior ranks. So they need to get spending money and most of the riders work when they are back home. Aussies have to do it tough for the first couple of years overseas, so they need to produce those top 20 results at every race.

So good on Shaun for doing this camp, but I do think it will be hard to make any money out of it because of the costs. Families are struggling at the moment and I can't see them paying that much.
