In terms of 'what is spam', anything this looks like advertising free-loading. If it looks like a representative of an organisation posing as a normal user putting up free plugs we'll remove it. Though if it is just a normal user posting a genuine thread for discussion that's ok. Yes its a pretty blurry line at best, and we may sometimes remove the odd post that is probably ok. If this is the case I apologise, it's going to happen from time to time. Between all us admins, we probably remove anywhere from 20-40 spam posts per day. This can range from nike shoes to viagra (they're a bit easier to spot). So for the most part I think we do a reasonable job.
I totally agrea Scott that for the most part the admins and mods here do a good job but I promise you I am no rep of the company I posted and when I questioned J5ive how it was spam this was his reply-
"To start- MOD DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
To end- Just Smells of spam. I deleted another thread with the same title last week and then yours magically pops up. Spam or not, its been removed and thats the end of the story."
We both know the company I posted and im sure you have also checked out their site. I was impressed that they were actually close if not beating CRCs prices. They are an Australian company. I thought it would have been something the mods and admin would support seeing as we all keep saying lets try and help the Australian Bicycle industry.
For the record I know how spamming and spammers work. I also know the amount of work that mods and admins do to look after a large forum. I am the owner of
www.outerlimits4x4.com the largest offroad form in Australia. < I hope you dont class that as spam
