Rocky Moped

Rorschach

Didnt pay $250 for this custom title
Really well, I was just doing laps and tweaking shock pressures each time trying to get it in the right spot. Im not sure what the Max pressure for the Hover shock is but it's getting pretty high!
Nice. I'm yet to make the pilgrimage, need to get my arse down there for a day or so

Yea these came with those pads
My only problem is the front hose in the Intend cable guides, I'm going to have to rig up something so it doesn't just bend into the spokes under compression.

Mine had the orange power pads. The power plus are silver and turn things up to 11.

As much as i love that Bandit fork, it really didn't fit this thing too well.. with the chunky carbon headtube area there was barely enough left hand turning radius, made climb trails pretty awkward having to try a wheelie pivot up every tight left turn.
I was pretty happy with the coil 38 before but after a few rides back on the Intend it just feels like an old RST hi5 seriously considering a Flash...

I was struggling to get the pressure right in the Hover shock. Max pressure is 525psi in the positive and 600 in the negative and I was pretty close to that, quite tricky to get the pump off consistently to ensure an accurate setup. On the coil shock im using a 550/525lb spring so I'll probably save the Hover/Bandit combo for a more suitable setup.

I definitely mucked up that michelin combo, where the force AM2 would be awesome on fast hardpack stuff the wild AM2 would be sliding and wanting to Brap, then on loose stuff the wild is like a tractor and the force was quite scary on the front.
Back to minion DHFs all round, never fails..

The leap pad on the old style axs remote is much nicer than the standard one, but man those new style pods are just so neat, ill chuck one of those on for the dropper as well.

The brakes are just a pleasure to use, absolutely predictable in every situation, lovely modulation and more power than you'll ever need..

Merry Christmas ya filthy animals

I was also very surprised how normal 155mm cranks feel straight away, it would be interesting to see how they go on a non-eeb.
After a few weeks I did jump back on my single speed with 177mm cranks and that was an incredibly weird feeling for the first 100m

I have seen a bit of a trend starting with shorter cranks on normal bikes as well as Eeebs. I think the thought processes is that cranks around 180/175 were originally intended for bikes way before the current long, low and slack trend and brands never changed the crank length. Now people are finding that with a low bb, the shorter cranks are beneficial when it comes to crank strikes but really don’t make that much difference in how they pedal.

Did you get the Hover set up to your liking?
Not 100% just yet, I did grab a better shock pump to hopefully help with the high pressures. The rockshox 600psi pump that came with it was crap.
The EXT is a pain to change springs with the rocky mountain specific shock bush/bearing setup, gotta take it to the shop and get them to press them out each time as the spring retainer collar won't fit over.
I was pretty comfortable on a 550lb but wanted to try a 525lb. Seems just a tad soft now
