I went for a spin around Nerang yesterday and noticed the Velo has been mowed for a CX race. Not being in the CX loop I hadn't heard this was on. I've done a couple of the Nerang CX races and it a fun track that Robbie lays out. info below-

08:30 rego / course open

09:00 - 09:10 kids free ride 10 mins (short course on velodrome infield)

09:15 - 09:30 u9/u11/u13 15 min (short course)

09:30 - 09:50 Course open

10:00 - 10:30 u15 / open/C grade m/f 30 min

10:30 - 10:50 course open

11:00 - 11:45 B grade / u17m /Masters 1-2- 3-4-5-6 + NCXS 45 min * (masters 3-4,5-6 may be split between B grade & C grade depending on numbers & rider preferences)

11:45 - 12:00 course open Elite women warm-up

12:10 - 12:55 Elite Women / u17w / u19 / Master W all divs 45 min

13:00 - 13:15 Elite men warmup on course

13:20 - 14:20 Elite men (elite, u19m, u23)

14:30 presentations

14:30 pack down

I'm out of the loop too, but I'll give it a crack. What grade is for slow riders on expensive bikes? :lol:

Last time it had a double spiral on the grass inside the velodrome. That looked pretty different.

C grade for fun, but having under 15's in same start makes it a bit :confused-new: - do I go out slow and keep out their way (and get beaten by a bunch of kids) or go hard(ish).
I got overtaken on the final bitumen bit last time by a guy running DI2 CX (and me on a 13kg HT), then again he may have had a flat or just been keeping pace with his son?
Course still has one spiral and a bit more bitumen by the look of it.

how did we go?

placed middle of the field in C grade. had a nice low speed stack in the soft dirt behind the velodrome... chose the wrong tyres of my 4 different sets!
