this here is my drinking/fishing/goin to the shops for an egg & bacon roll after a big night bike.

i knocked it up from an old Jamis XC bike i had in the shed (i went up a hill once, didn't care for it much).

it's all stock except for some 15" apehangers. i've also modified it and mounted the brake/shifter on the top-tube (i wanted clean bars) i've made a suicide shifter lever for it, i just need to mount it.

now i need to decide whether or not to paint the thing.

so let's vote:

1: paint it (tell me what colour you reckon).

2: strip the paint and go for the brushed alloy look.

3: bogan undercoat and stripes look.

4: leave the sexy beast alone.

But mate a few suggestions.

1) Ditch the gears, singlespeed is so much more stylish and besides do you think you will be able to operate the gears after a big night on the piss.
2) Get rid of that goose neck of a stem. You need a shorty.

i want to keep the gears (to show off my fab skills) and to be different.
there's heaps of singlespeed cruisers.

good call on the stem though. i'll cut that sucker back tomorrow.

Lucky I would advise keeping those bars as they will help the handling of the bicycle during furious race events.

Clear coat over raw would be ok but ghetto camo gets my vote
Depends on your theme for it. Clean and simple is always good but I'm thinkin' that you're heading the other way with the suicide shifter and all.

Cut the forks and extend them by at least 3 foot for the gehto choppa look and paint it flat black or blue,red ,green,yellow....colour doesnt matter but the forks do

I can get some stickers made up for you, hows bogan pride??

It needs a steering damper so you don't get the speed wobbles when drunk riding.

If you get drunk enough you can use a good projectile vomit as free paint stripper, then clear coat over it, mmmm uber bogan.

already got some "bad mother fucker" stickers made for it.
and if you look close, you'll see the naked chicks on the forks.

i just pulled the bike apart and primed and striped it...looks ok but i might brush it back at work tomoza.


and yeah, the steering is just a little different to my glory.

Find/buy all the cans of paint you can, then paint it multicolour. make sure you get some drips in the paint for extra street cred.

wouldnt that brake and shifter get caught in any shorts u ever wear riding it? or if you are planning to ride drunk i dunno if i would advise holding on with one hand to change gears and brake... especially brake. i am unstable enough braking with 2 hands on normal handlebars sober haha. and you are going to do it one handed on massive 'hard to controll one handed' bars, while being drunk lol??

the shifter only sticks out 15mm from the top-tube.
once i fit the suicide lever it wont be a problem at all because the lever will be about 180mm high.

the reason for doing this is,
because i can
plus, apehangers with cables and levers look shit.

so i couldn't give a rat's about how inconvenient the brake/shifter placement is.


anyway, i striped it back raw today, looks crap, so it's getting painted.
undercoating tonight, top coat tomoza.

pick a colour.

well here it is (with my tough-as-nails kid on it)

the bogan undercoat and guide coat won out and i'm liking it.

only downside is i ordered the stickers too big, so now it's called "bad fucker" rather than "bad mother fucker".

cant wait to flog it down the road (towards my local)
