So after tagging along for a few rides on rented/borrowed bikes the missus decided she wanted to give trail riding a go this coming summer. Set out to put together a bike for her that would handle local trails and not blow the budget. Bit tough finding something her size initially but came across an old school (2005 or 2006 i think) Giant Trance 2 on a fb buy/sell group and from there got a few parts to modernise it. She's seen a little more use now and seems to go alright for a bike of this age!
Specs:
Frame - ('05 or '06 not sure) Giant Trance 2
Rear shock - Fox Float RP23 (100mm travel)
Front shock/fork - Rockshox Reba w/ U-Turn (80-120mm travel)
Handlebars - 3T Extendo
Stem - Funn Funnduro 45mm
Headset - Stock FSA
Grips - DMR
Saddle - Bontrager $20 bargain bin special
Seatpost - DnM Dropper (100mm drop - random Taiwanese brand. For $180 can't complain on reliability, seems OK)
Front brake - Hayes 9 + 160mm rotor
Rear brake - Hayes 9 + 160mm rotor
Cranks/Sprocket - Shimano XT + 30t NW Blackspire Snaggletooth
Chain - Shimano 11spd
Pedals - Generic Wellgo platforms (not sure on the model, but they are magnesium with replaceable pins)

Front Wheel - DT Swiss hub laced to Mavic 317's, Tyre is a Maxxis Advantage 26 x 2.4
