WELCOME TO THE

MAXXIS Australian National Mountain Bike Championships 2004

The town of Eildon and the Fat Tyre Flyer Mountain bike club look forward to having you at our event. A lot of work has gone into this event and we hope that you will all have a good time.

Below is some late breaking information and general stuff that you all should take note of for the event.

Please do not respond to this e-mail.

GETTING TO EILDON

Unfortunately the road works on the Black Spur between Healsville and Buxton have not been completed and road closures will be in place up to the event. Please take note of these.

Wednesday 25 February, 10am-5pm

Thursday 26th February, 10am - 5pm and

Friday 27th February, 9am - 4pm

During these times we suggest taking the Melba Hwy to Yea and then driving via Alexandra.

GETTING TO THE RACE SITE IN EILDON

Our race site is right behind the town and our event direction will lead you to the race parking area where you will have 500 meter walk to reach the race site.

Road Closures will be in place in the streets close to our site and parking is not permitted. Please respect these directions and only access the site via the direction given. It is a 2 min ride or 10 min walk from the town center which will be signed.

We encourage all those staying in town to ride to the race if possible.

REGISTRATION

All CA licensed riders and Non licensed riders will need to fill in a Day license form before they register. These will be clearly marked in the registration tent. Any outstanding monies and a valid license or day license form will need to be shown before race numbers are given.

WHATS ON SITE

Besides 4 great race course there will be 2 Bike stores both offering full bike services and selling all the parts you need. The food will included pies, pasties, hot dogs, dim sims, dosa’s, Salad rolls, Real coffee, Cold drinks, Juices, fruit salads and cakes. If this list does not have what you want then you can easily make your way down to the town centre. Also on site will be over 20 tech tents from all our sponsors with the latest and greatest products on display. Be sure to check it all out during your stay.

SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY

The Golden Trout Hotel is hosting the official event party on Sat Night.

The band BENDER will be doing a range of modern covers so you can all let your hair out and have some fun. The event is free for all to enter.

VOLUNTEERS

Help is needed during the event with DH drivers and course marshals. We have a roster split into 4 hour shifts and all volunteers will get food and drink provided when helping.

If you can spare a 4 hour slot to help us or know somebody who can please see us at the Rego tent so we can find a convenient shift.

On Wed Afternoon we are looking for 8 fully licensed helpers to be driven to Mansfield to pick up the DH vehicles.

RESPECT YOUR ACCOMMODATION

Please be careful when servicing bikes. We have been asked to remind all riders to do all bike servicing outside of their accommodation and not to damage carpet. Please respect these whishes.

If you know of people who do not yet have accommodation we suggest they try Yea (35 min drive) or Marysville (30 min drive) Both of these have plenty of self services accommodation.
