MTB shoes - wide foot brands?

hi all,

I've got a pair of specialized SG mtb sports shoes that I bought in 2009. they are getting on the nose a bit now.... not sure if I can somehow save them or not.

anyhow.. they are a good fit, I do get a little bit of hot foot.. but I did love them for the heel cupping over previous shoes.

before I go out again and get the same.. anyone have anything good to say about other brands in terms of wider foot fitment? money almost no object as comfort is king for me...

Anyone know of a company that can make them? Idealy I need 8mm lift on the left as per advice from bit fitter

cheers

Cheers
Justin

Yep love Northwaves. Wide with a very secure heel.
cool.. and they are durable? my specialised are on/off every day for the last 2 years... no real wear and tear unlike my previous shimano that fell apart in 6 months

I have a pair of Northwave MTB shoes I use for commuting five days a week. They have a Vibram sole and are excellent for walking (even in the bush). I have taken them on a ten day tour in the bush - lots of riding, 22 river crossings and heaps of walking. They are now 18 months old and look brand new. Great shoes (I still prefer the fit of Specialized though).

In that case, Sidi do a range of wide shoes, I believe it's called the 'mega' range. I found fit was, how do I put this, wierd. A 43 was no good, a 44 was no good but a 43.5 was awesome.

Shimano also do a range of wide shoes and my Pearl Izumis are wideish (wider than my Times at least) but not sure if they'll be wide enough, worth having a look at though.

Another For NorthWave

And another for NorthWave. Had them for more than two years, commuting 5 days a week and many MTB rides. Mine certainly don't look new but I am reluctant to change them as they are so comfortable.

If you know your size, keep an eye on Wiggle for seriously good prices.
