MTB Orienteering 2013

Events coming up are 24-25 August @ Warnervale (near Wyong) and Walleroo (just North of Newcastle)

There is a Middle distance race on the Saturday where the winners will finish under the hour.
Sunday is Long distance and the winners of each race are expected to take 80 minutes.

All age groups from M/W 12 to M/W70+.
You can ride these races as serious or as casual as you like.

MTBOrienteering uses very detailed Maps accurate to the terrain. Not always the fastest rider wins, but the smartest.

MTB Orienteering with Running also

This is another form of MTB Orienteering with Run Legs also.
First race for the new season is September 14th @ Ourimbah.
The entry fees are again quite cheap for an Adventure race.
There are 4 different distances and you can compete in teams.

NSW MTB Orienteering @ Kiwarrak State Forest - Taree

Kiwarrak MTB Orienteering is over and the tracks were wet wet wet.
The BAD news is that Kiwarrak State Forest is about to be LOGGED.
These brilliant trails need to be ridden at least once by all.
My advice is to get there as soon as they dry up ( they are quite rideable now though ), before it is logged and you miss out on a lot of great trails.
They will be rebuilt but how long could that take.

BTW - Next MTB Orienteering is on August 24-25 around Newcastle area. Warnervale & Walleroo.
