Ever seen Skins played on TV, particularly in Golf where the winner of a hole takes all the cash. Well, there’s a winner-take-all cash component to each of the 5 events in the new MTB Festival – Australia, a new event just launched by the crew at iAdventure. Prize money for the overall event winners is paid too, all the way down to 8th place.
The money isn’t reserved for the Elite amongst us. There will be “punters only” dash for cash criterium races thrown in the ring, so mum & dad can share in the cash. Oh, and did we mention the kids and charity events, or the huge Festival that the event has been built around?
We’ve taken the ‘fluff’ out of the point to point events, and just given you the ‘good bits’. We’ve taken the ‘time off work’ out of the Multi-day Stage Race, and given you a stage-race run entirely over a weekend. Just what the doctor ordered!
MTB Festival – Port Macquarie, scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of June, offers four separate competitive events; a fifth competitive event if you make the Top-10, where you will set the track alight in a final Shootout – and yes, once again for another winner take all “Skin” – a bonus $500 to be exact.
Race as a solo and go for the prizes, or just prove to yourself and your mates that you are hard-core. Not for you? Then grab a posse of mates, 2 or 3 of you, and enter as a team and just have a great time on some really great trails; and let us tell you, the trail fairies have been busy prepping a selection of trails in Jolly Nose, Telegraph Point, and the brilliant new Urban Mountain Bike Park at Wayne Richards Park.
So – let’s recap! Events for ages 2 and up, a family friendly expo with kids zone, Dash for Cash for the punters, and a spectator friendly event HQ right in the heart of town – MTB Festival – Port Macquarie is sure to be a knock out for the whole family.
With sponsorship on board from Gordon Street Cycles, Pacific Survey, Merida, Rydges Port Macquarie, Shotz, Vision Ink Performance Eyewear, Pycon Homes, North Coast Marble and Granite, and many more still to come, the prize tally thus far is in excess of $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Entries are now open, and are strictly limited for the Port Macquarie Event. Need a hard weekend of racing? After a bit of fun in a more relaxed team of two or three? Simply a punter who wants a chance to pick up some loot in the super-fun dash for cash events? This event caters for every rider, and with two days of awesome riding, the important thing to note is that it won’t break the bank!
