Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone had problems with leeches on Sunday. I was wondering because I found a leech next to where I was standing before my second run and one in one of my socks (luckily it wasn't on me).

I would assume that Ourimbah is pretty similar to Awaba, that is, chock full of leeches. Especially when it rains.

Spray heaps of insect repelant on your shoes/socks/legs and you shouldn't have to much trouble.

Yeh I found one on my left calf Sunday night.

When you ride through puddles that is one the most likely way to get a leach on you. When it rain always check out your legs after a ride as you won't feels the little bastarts attaching themselfs on you.

Pfft...as long as they dont get in an oriface your OK :eek:They drop off after they get a feed and personally they dont bother me as much as the hoppy joes!

They will be around for weeks after rain as they breed in wet soil and undergrowth. I would think leaches would be at Ourimbah all year round due to the rain forest type bush at the bottom of the track.
